Congrats on your incoming RR. I traded in a 2024 Mustang Dark Horse so I understand it being a change, although not as big as you may think. The RR is fun to drive.

It’s surprising just how sporty the RR drives.
Feels very European sports sedan-ish to me.
Especially for something so off road capable.

Thanks. What was your reason for trading in the DH? For me, the C43 was very fast and drove like a road ready race car. I found it a little too stiff and "hyper" for everyday driving, even in comfort mode. The transmission was very jerky in sports mode, so much that it felt like it was broken. Was also disappointed in the interior rattles and noises for a brand new merc.

I agree completely. During the test drive, I was shocked at how refined it felt. That sealed the deal for me.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the DH. Having a $70K car I drove a couple hours a week and still paying insurance on was a decision that seamed good at the time of purchase but really didn't make sense anymore. I also had a single cab F150-5.0 that was my daily (paid off). With the equity in both the mustang and F150 I ended getting my RR for ~$12K out the door and it serves the purpose of both sports' car and pick up. I feel like it's a win-win for me and in a couple more months I won't have a truck payment.

Beautiful truck you got there my friend. I know you will enjoy it.

Welcome to the Ranger Raptor world. Coming from what you came from, wait 1-2K miles and have the Ford Pro-Cal tune and a decent exhaust system done. (At least the tune). I did both, went with a stainless Borla cat back system & black tips, at about 1.5K and now have 2.5K and man what a difference to the alertness & more positive trans shifting this thing now has. That roughly 50 extra HP & 100 Tq. really took my RR to a fun & manageable driving experience and actually made it much smoother & more enjoyable around town. Which is where I drive it daily.
Plus the sound is an added plus and the black tips look phenomenal compared to the brushed stainless which look odd on my desert tan with no other bright work. The polished black looks factory next to the rear tow hooks until you get close enough to see the Borla lettering.
Just something to kick around if you find yourself looking for a little bit more out of your new toy. Congrats & Welcome!

They look great. Im thinking about the tune, but im looking at this truck for the long term and im wondering if the tune will be detrimental for the long term. Obviously would love more power, just not at a cost of longevity

Where did you have the Borla system installed?

I did it myself in the driveway. Pulled the truck up onto 4 ramps so it was evenly off the ground a good 6-7ā€ and 100% stable with the tires dropped into the ramp pockets. Gave me plenty of room for removal & install. Did the exhaust servo’s swap on the tailgate outside of the truck (gotta pull the factory servo’s and get them onto the new system) and yes it still works like it should from the steering wheel with the 4 sound settings. Since my truck was new I had zero corrosion or sticky bolt issues to deal with. The entire swap out was a breeze. Didn’t have to pull the spare or need anybody else’s help. Just monkeying around on my back with basic hand tools. If your handy I think anybody could do it if you get the truck up a good 6ā€.
