Tailgate folding step ladder installed 2024 Ranger Raptor

^ same. I have a small stool where i back my truck in the drivway and also a step ladder close by..did not even think about accessing stuff and pulling things out.. def would get in the way or always have to deploy it which is a pain if you're trying to grab something outta the back tailgate section.

Like this ladder a lot, especially the swivel feature. Thanks for the write-up. Too bad there's not one these that stores inside the bed, up along one side. Unless deployed to get it out of the way it blocks loading and unloading, plus being able to use the tailgate as a seat and work surface. It's not that often I need to get all the way up in the bed so I would be moving it out of the way more than I'd use it, otherwise I'd seriously consider it. My solution isn't as elegant or clever but works well enough until I find something better.

I agree with you.I like the one posted but it does get in the way.

I like it a lot, but i think the small step stool method is a lot handier overall, if slightly less convenient. But that tonneau OP has looks like it might be a worthy upgrade over my current one so i can run a rack and cover. Which one is that, if you don't mind?

I used to carry a small folding step on my 5th gens, so I agree with you in part.

But, this ladder is light and so easy to get out of the way, literally within 10 seconds or less.
(literally, just open tailgate, Un strap, unscrew the pivot knob, then swing out of the way or deploy to load/ unload, if needed).

Its def not for everyones setup, and there are several aftermarket choices as well.

Its a Realtruck bak flip hard folding cover. (It came with the truck from the dealer)

I can live with +12lbs of additional non-rotating mass for that level of convenience. Why Ford didn't do this on the Raptor is beyond me...I get that it's a bare bones performance truck, BUT, one or two little things like that can go a long way to making it more livable for a variety of uses.

I got around to doing this but changed a few things. I wanted to be able to remove it a lot.
