Anyone with a Bak flip or revolver (or similar) have any issues with the tailgate ruler chewing up the rear seal on the cover? Just curious. Waiting on a BAKFlip MX4 and that ruler is like rasp. Any issues?

I have a Bison 4 it's very similar. No problems . I did use the tailgate seal kit and got and additional seal for the back lip.

If yours is anything like my X4s, you will have nothing to worry about. The seal doesn't really make contact with the tailgate.

Yep -
I have a weather tech cover, the tailgate seal doesn’t touch the ruler, but on top of that there’s a bit of a ledge on the leading edge of the plastic cap that catches the seal.

Interesting, I just installed a Bakflip MX4 and the seal for sure drags on the ruler, to the point that the sharp '7' actually catches the seal and grabs and bends it everytime i open the tailgate lol.

Have you tried adjusting it back towards the bulkhead a bit?

Thanks for the advice! I did try pushing it back and tightening things back down again before the storm. To be honest though, I think it's not so much the cover but more the truck itself: I realized there is a rather large gap between the tailgate and the body - in a spot no tonneau could ever cover effectively - and also the bed rail caps for rails, when popped off, have wide open 1/2" holes that run straight into the bed. The caps are not gasketed or all, just loose plastic, so water definitely getting in there too..

I'm still very satisfied with the Bakflip! It's a truck, so OK if things get a little wet. Just don't want backpacks and such getting soaked! Thanks!
