Tall owner / short passenger - I need Running board advice

It’s getting out where my wife has had Some issues, but she says as long as she remembers it is higher she is ok.

i have no problem just going in backwards.

i have only owned small trucks my entire life even though they’ve been lower

And we are both in pretty good shape although not as young as we used to be

I like the lariat power seats that automatically move all the way back when you turn off the truck

that and the memory seats makes a big difference when you have vastly different size drivers.

I would try the ranger out without the running boards first and see what shakes out

I installed these drop steps from Rough Country on our Ranger STX; just another option to consider.

I have the same issue as @Atom!, and was thinking those hoops might be the answer. I drove a Nissan Frontier with those, and found I could exit the truck without touching either hoop (my left leg drops first, landing between the hoops).

I currently have a truck build “in production” and purposefully didn’t order running boards because the OEM ones were awkward with getting in and out of the truck.

However, I’m 6’-1”, my wife is 4’-11”. I need something for her to be able to get in and out of the truck and I’d prefer it also not be a “calf banger” every time I get in or out.

The only option I’ve been able to come up with is the Go Rhino power steps with the override switch that I can turn on or off. However, I’d prefer something a bit less expensive and something that would give me at least a little protection off road.

This will be the first truck I’ve ever owned (coming from 40 years of sports cars), the slim steps look good but seem hard for middle aged folks to use. I need something functional for her, but “non-intrusive” for me. I sure could use your help. Any recommendations?

Real Truck Rock Rails and bolt on steps look like a good solution. I have the same issue with a big difference in height between my wife and myself. I am leaning towards this as my solution when my truck is delivered in the near future. If anyone has any feedback on these products, I would appreciate it.

I had that issue, had to grab her hand and pull her up in the truck so I ordered some from Amazon. They worked perfectly for her, but I don't expect them to absorb a hit. They have instructions that include bolt torque measurements which I appreciated. She likes them = happy me?
