Text Messages

With my Sync 4 Bronco if a new text message came in it would put a pop up on the screen and I could listen to the message, or (if stopped) read it.

My RR makes the notification sound, but there seems to be no way to get the message. There was no pop up. In Android Auto the message app is available, but if it wasn't in AA when the message arrived it says something like "0 messages this session". Not the end of the world, but odd and a bit of a PITA.

When I set up my phone connection at the dealer I turned on AA. I don't use it often. I don't need navigation around home and like the Ford factory navigation when needed.

It started turning on AA every time I start the truck, which didn't happen at first. I went into Phone and under my phone there's a bunch of icons. I turned off AA there and now when there's a new text I get the old familiar pop up.

Kind of a weird design. I guess if AA is available Sync wants it to handle text.

Hopefully this will help others with the same issue.

same thing happens to me, only vehicle I have ever owned (all Ford) that will not display or let you hear the text messages??

When I receive a text message with Android Auto on my Ranger there is a notice on the very top of the center screen with a button that allows the car to read the message to you. I have hit that button several times. When the female voice is done reading the message she asks you if you want to respond. I always say No. I have yet to try that to see how the voice to text works.

My microsoft Teams notifications/messages give me the same pop-up. When I push to listen, it tells me I have to activate alexa first. Never formally did that so for now I just ignore it and check those notifications on my android auto/phone.
