I love this thing... i cant get the DAMNED MAP LIGHTS to turn on, but lets be honest, i can go my entire time owning this without ever needing those. Here is my video from today...

The dome light should be easier to operate than that. There is also a timing relay involved that dims and automatically shuts off the lights after leaving and turns on the lights when you enter. The other possibility is a faulty connection or ground that doesn't allow the timing relay coil to energize the lights. If it is this challenging, consider taking it to the dealer.
From another forum.... Note the GEM module might be called something different with current vehicles and the diagram is from a much older vehicle.
The door ajar light would indicate a ground signal is being sent to the GEM module which controls the Interior Lamp relay. Check the fuse that powers the Interior Lamp relay. If the fuse is good, there could be a problem with the relay or the ground signal from the GEM that activates. Here are a couple of diagrams for the circuits that should help.

Thanks for all the videos! I hear you about the new Ranger Raptor seat leather sagging. That is going to annoy me for sure. I noticed the same thing in some other press videos. My 2021 M3 has 57k miles on it and the seats look new even with my 72lbs boxer riding shot gun a lot. Thicker leather it seems on the BMW.
