Lots of links on social media for people selling toppers for the bed for as they say "under $1000 or under $500". Im pretty sure almost all of these if not all of them are scams but was wondering if anyone actually has bought one from one of these locations and has been happy with their purchase. Let me know.... thanks

Good question! Especially a modular topper for that low a price

Bought a leer topper for my old Tacoma on Craigslist. Capet lined and insulated, LED lights inside. The guy sold it to me for 300.00 because he bought a truck that came with it and thought it made the truck look like an old man pickup.
After at least a year keeping my eye out for the size and color to match I couldn’t drive fast enough to get it!

I now have a Alu-cab for my ranger that was way more than the leer, definitely where I would look for a used topper.

I've seen a couple on 5G for sale, cheap. They thought they wanted a topper, then for a reason didn't want one. If it's a name brand like Lear or ARE that's in good shape, I'd say $500 to $1000 is a good deal, as new ones can be 3- 4000.

A buddy bought one from Alibaba for his F150. It took a couple months to get it, but the quality seems pretty good, and it gets the job done.
I think he paid just about as much for shipping as for the topper itself.

i heard those from alibaba aren't bad. they appear to be super solid from the few i have read of people trying out and the cost was so small compared to a name brand one. yes, shipping was soooo slow
