I was saying there are 102 leftover new 25s. I don’t doubt there are 1000 plus new 25 and 26s available. They are not hard to find anymore and agree with you about not paying over MSRP or even MSRP for that matter. Especially if you are willing to travel. I know some of the usual markets are still trying to push the ADMs hoping they hook a fish.

From my research when I was buying mine, the cheapest used ones I saw were 24s with high miles (over 50k) and they were still in the 45k range. Most of the used ones were in the 50k range.

Everyone is different and I get 5-10k is real money. But, I can’t see not paying the extra 10k for brand new truck over one with hardly any or no warranty left and not knowing the history of the truck.
Totally agree.
Our last 2 vehicles were the only ones ever where I really didn't care about the price, they were what we wanted and we could afford them (So weird after all these decades of carefully saving and being ...sensible  ) BUT - I STILL had to do better than msrp and I did, on both...

I’d make sure that the oil change was done relatively early. During my shopping process for a RR a stumbled upon a couple of used examples sitting at the dealership with 8-9k miles. According to carfax none had their first oil change because the trucks were still under the 10k mile oil change interval which is far too long in my opinion.
Carfax is a good place to start. Just understand that it only knows what the previous owner did at a dealership or at a shop that updates the carfax. I traded my 24 RR with about 13k miles on it. By that time I had done three oil changes on it myself. But carfax didn’t show any of that as I looked it up when they listed it on their lot. So from a carfax POV it looked like the previous owner did nothing to it besides putting gas in it.

The other suggestions like looking under the truck for signs it was rock crawled or taken on the beach should be an easy visual check.

If I were looking for a low mileage RR and you did some of the suggestions listed here I would ask them to include a ford extended warranty with zero deductible for piece of mind.

Good luck with your search.

Well, this particular truck has been sold. So I'm looking for a 2025 new one at this point most likely.

Actually making phone calls now.

Thanks to all that replied! If I get one, I'll post it.

Well…the hunt paid off…
Ford Ranger What to look out for when buying used IMG_0283

I did a nationwide search and started with the west coast (excluding CA as their sales tax laws are nuts). I found a new 2025 RR and got a very good price on it. Graphics package (I’ll have to decide if this stays on or not), bead lock wheels, bed liner, mud flaps, wheel locks and keypad.

The truck is in Kansas. I will fly out and drive it back. I’ll know ‘er well after that.

What stinks is that I have to wait for the recall announced last week (I think that’s when it was) to be completed. Dealers are not supposed to sell them until it’s done. The sales manager told me it should be before the end of May.

In the words of Tom Petty - ”the waiting is the hardest part”.

Ah. I haven't been notified of that, so maybe it doesn't apply to mine.
I'm hoping the towing module update happens OTA, but doesn't look like it will....
