Would you order XLT 4X4 without Locking Rear Differential

I had a Jeep for 10 years and never used it until one day I was at a concert in Latrobe, PA. Everyone parked in grass parking lots which became saturated with water as it rained. All of the vehicles were stuck coming out, and my Jeep struggled in 4H and 4L, and I was stuck just spinning wheels. Time came for the last resort, to use the rear locker.... and boom I came free and made it out of there. I did feel bad for all the other stuck vehicles.

As others have said, the Locker comes in the FX4 package. For me, I wouldn't be without it as live in a rural area with mud and snow and have used it. My first experience with traction control was when it resulted in me getting stuck in deep snow when it kept applying the brakes and soon bogged me down, stuck.

Gator21, you have me thinking all I need is a 2wd truck with a locker. I have a 4G 2.3L standard tranny with no locker. Always wished I had the locker to inspire a little bit of confidence. The one wheel drive holds you back form exploring a wee bit more.

I think the Explorer 8.8s can be swapped over giving you a limited slip. On the Explorer I shimmed the LS up and put carbon fiber clutches in.

I ordered a xl Ranger because I just wanted a truck. If I could have ordered it without the center screen and no power windows or locks, I would have. I would have loved to have ordered a plain Jane ranger with a 5.0 with tow package but it wasn't an option ?. Imho, I want a truck I can pay off in a short time and enjoy something I own with no payments. These raptors with all the bells and whistles are nice but doesn't warrant a purchase for me.
