Tacoma's have a sale date December 2023. The Ranger factory could still be ok strike in December 2023. I am not even scheduled for my order. There is a excellent chance that Tacoma's will be on the lot before my order is even scheduled. This makes them more of a reality than the ranger.
If the UAW is still on strike in December, it would make the second longest UAW strike in history, and the longest since 1946 This is extremely unlikely to happen. The strike fund would be gone or close to gone. And the Toyota's that will be on the lots will be the lower trims as most certainly all the TRD OR will have been accounted for by then. Not to mention there won't be any Tacoma Hybrids until next year anyway so there won't be any TrailHunters or TRD Pro's.

I sympathize with your position because you got screwed by your dealer on the allocation. So I think you have some deliberation ahead of you. But for those with orders in, I severely doubt Tacoma would represent a faster delivery. I suppose I'd re-iterate that we all knew this was coming and patience would be required. So I'd still advise to choose the best truck for you and let the lead times not sway you into something you could potentially be unhappy with. Just my two cents. But whatever you do I wish you good luck.

Imax hybrid tacomas are 1st qtr 2024. Considering a trd off road if raptor keeps getting delayed.

The TRD Pro is impressive, but not competitive with the RRaptor in my eyes. They could have 30 on the lot right this very moment and I'd still choose to wait on my RRaptor.

And that's a choice. But most won't have the opportunity to get a Raptor and the other tacoma models are more impressive than the Ranger models. And they have manual transmission as an option, long bed as an option, etc.

But I do agree the Raptor is lead dog at this point if you can eventually acquire one.

interesting video
I didn't agree with his video. He said the Bison would outperform the Raptor but by what metric? Sure, it's got 35's on it with a little more underbody protection, but that's the only major advantage. Chevy didn't do anything to the engine for the Bison which means it's going to be slower and less powerful than the ZR2 because it's a lot heavier.

Raptor suspension is a lot better with live valve and it has better off road tech, like trail control, that the GM twins don't have. I think the Bison is really cool and I'm glad GM made it but given the choice, it's Raptor every time over that.
