Does anybody have information on the stock subwoofer speaker itself? Specifically looking for size and mounting depth. The only thing I know so far is that it’s a dual voice coil, and it’s small maybe a 6, 6 1/2, or 6 3/4… doesn’t look like an 8.

I’d like to try replacing the OEM speaker with a nicer one like I did on my Mustang Mach one. The mustang has a 10” sub with the b&o system that you can replace with a pioneer sub, it sounds amazing for The low cost you put in it.

I did the same with my mustang, made a huge difference with the balance.

The factory sub is a 6x9 venting out the back firewall using the firewall for reverb. Essentially a poor mans vented box is what they were trying to achieve. It's not great.

The best solution is a box fitted to the storage compartment under the rear seat. This can take a 10 inch.

We are also now shipping a full PNP B&O replacement kit for the Ranger's.

Did you use any 10" kit in particular during development? Or is there a particular subwoofer replacement product you may recommend for use with your PNP amp?

We have been using a morel power slim 10. This sub never ceases to amaze me with the output it can generate being a shallow 10.

Any sub that can be wired up at 2 ohm will be suitable for our amp. So a dual 4 or a single 2.

Actually the sub behind the seat isn’t a 6x9, it’s a round speaker about a 5-3/4 size as where a 6x9 would be oval shaped. I purchased an under seat sub box for a 10” sub from Australia. I’m installing a 10” 2ohm Hertz mille pro shallow sub paired with Kenwood KXA800.1 mono amp. I purchased a Kicker KeyLoc plug and play unit from Soundsgoodstereo.com that easily cancels out the factory bass roll off. Really simple install. Run the power wire find a proper ground, done.
Subwoofer-$449
Amp-$300
Box-$185-ebay
Plug and play-$250

Ours was definitely a 6x9. It vents through the rear firewall. I am still looking into why some rangers have the EVC sub and why some have the boxed mini sub.

Is that an Australian version? Because the U.S. Version has a round sub.

I was under the impression this was the subwoofer that was fitted to previous generation rangers. This is what they have been fitting on the 2019-2023 rangers. What's the build date on your ranger?

My build date was Feb 15 2024. I’m sure every other US Ranger has the exact same sub. Hopefully some others can chime in to confirm as well.

That is interesting, it is possible we get a different sub in the Australian delivered trucks. Every 24+ ranger we have seen over here has the 6x9. In either case it needs to be removed and replaced as a priority...

Did you replace the sub? Has anyone tried upgrading the speaker?
