Hey all, new to the forum! Yesterday, I had my new shadow black Ranger Raptor delivered to my front door. Incredible experience by a dealership in Iowa; Mike Molstead Ford. I have been looking for a while for this exact spec; black, zero options and local to me, to no avail. I even had other dealerships attempt dealer trades across the country, no one wants to give them up (understandably).

This VIN popped up incoming to their dealership on cars.com (I have notifications set) the week before Memorial Day weekend. I called, learned there was a $500 Ford rebate (credit maybe?) on MSRP for May and immediately placed a deposit to hold it - even knowing the vehicle had a delivery date of June 1-June 9. Sure thing, it showed up in the first week of June and they still honored the credit. Best part? They hand delivered the truck to me for free in Wisconsin (I think it's within a 500 mi radius). Hands down, the best experience I have ever had buying a vehicle, 10/10 would recommend. Every single person in the process was knowledgable, personable and excited for me.

Now, onto the truck. This thing is incredible. I've been in the EV game for the last 5+ years (wife has a Model X Plaid, I had [now sold] a Model 3 Performance) and it's quite the departure from one, but glad to be back to ICE. We plan on purchasing a camper, SxS, etc. - so home chores, light towing, off roading, will be it's calling. To add, I have many tasteful mods planned already, and I'll be sure to post here. She's already loaded with 35s in the bed for installation tomorrow (Friday).

Thanks, all!

Way to go Mitch!
We also acquired our Ranger Raptor at MSRP (Ford gave us an additional factory rebate since it was a "special order") from Brad Howell Ford in Kokomo Indiana (thanks to Kevin and Brittany of Lite Brite Nation telling their YouTube fans of their great experience with Andy Redmond at this dealership). I will flat out say I was disappointed with the LOCAL dealers in Southern California that all wanted $5-10K over MSRP (some of these dealers I have bought numerous, 10s..., cars from in the past and they would not even consider selling one to me at MSRP). What I have seen is that in addition to Brad Howell There are a number of other ethical dealers selling Raptors at MSRP - provided the buyer is willing to call around and likely go out of state (yeah I could have had the vehicle shipped to SoCal, for $500 demanded by the local dealers to take the shipment... but wanted to enjoy a road trip and see some friends along the way home).
I really feel that if more buyers were willing to shop around, and shun short sighted dealers, such as those that populate my area, we would see this practice of charging ADM's (Additional Dealer Mark-ups) end. I have also meet personally with some senior people at Ford, including Will Ford, and they absolutely HATE what some dealers are doing as they know it puts Ford in a bad light. It's also MY OPINION that Ford knows who the good dealers are and send them additional allotments of vehicles (I can't prove this but not only did mine come in mid-April but another was delieved shortly after mine).
Bottom Line: It's up us the Buyer to shop around and do OUR homework. I will also say everytime I walk up to this amazing machine I feel good about the reseach and work to find a good dealer - which makes me smile everytime my wife or I start it up!

Congrats on your new truck Mitch! So tired of the greedy-@ss dealers adding on those extra dealer fees. Ford really has done a HORRIBLE job of taking care of its customers by letting those shady jerks get away with that. Although Ford sucks at protecting its customers from shady dealers, they did a great job of engineering a great truck in the Ranger Raptor. It really is a great truck so far.

Thank you! It really is. Honeymoon stage sure, but so far, I could not be happier.

Thank you - I agree! I think buyers will shop around, too. Honestly, while it was painful waiting (as it always is), it was 100% worth it in the end. Add a great dealership to the mix? Even better.

Dealers who mark up a Ford Ranger, IMO, don't understand the crowd who's interested in purchasing one. I get it - if it's an exotic, or a super limited run vehicle, dealers do believe they're warranted (as cringe is that is to say) to mark up or add ADM's to the purchase price. Again, I completely disapprove of any markup, regardless, but still.

That aside, appreciate your thoughts, this thing rocks!

I know it's summer but have you tested your heated steering wheel yet? Does it obviously come on/put out heat?

Just took delivery of mine and can't tell if it's cutting it out due to warm weather or simply defective.
In our Ranger Raptor I can feel the steering wheel heat fairly quick. However, it’s not as warm as the heated wheel in our Bronco. I think the wheel thickness and material has something to do with it. The Bronco is a little thinner in and more dense than the Ranger Raptor steering wheel.

I am also very interested in seeing this on 35’s. We have a 2021 Bronco that I may try to swap the factory 35s onto the Ranger Raptor just to see how it looks.

Tested this today. Does it get warm and stay warm and it's about 80 here in WI. My truck was garaged when I tried it, so it wasn't sitting out, baking in the sun, but nonetheless.

Wheels/tires are on and look amazing! Fronts rub a bit at full lock, but this was expected and I'll remedy. I'd personally rather trim than lift, if I am honest. I plan on hauling/towing, plus adding a Diamondback crossbin and HD cover when they launch (end of June I have heard) and a full 35 does indeed fit underneath, so a level kit would make the rear squat - which I really do not want. Pictures to come this weekend, most likely. I'll post in the wheels/tires thread and link here.
