Hey all, new to the forum! Yesterday, I had my new shadow black Ranger Raptor delivered to my front door. Incredible experience by a dealership in Iowa; Mike Molstead Ford. I have been looking for a while for this exact spec; black, zero options and local to me, to no avail. I even had other dealerships attempt dealer trades across the country, no one wants to give them up (understandably).
This VIN popped up incoming to their dealership on cars.com (I have notifications set) the week before Memorial Day weekend. I called, learned there was a $500 Ford rebate (credit maybe?) on MSRP for May and immediately placed a deposit to hold it - even knowing the vehicle had a delivery date of June 1-June 9. Sure thing, it showed up in the first week of June and they still honored the credit. Best part? They hand delivered the truck to me for free in Wisconsin (I think it's within a 500 mi radius). Hands down, the best experience I have ever had buying a vehicle, 10/10 would recommend. Every single person in the process was knowledgable, personable and excited for me.
Now, onto the truck. This thing is incredible. I've been in the EV game for the last 5+ years (wife has a Model X Plaid, I had [now sold] a Model 3 Performance) and it's quite the departure from one, but glad to be back to ICE. We plan on purchasing a camper, SxS, etc. - so home chores, light towing, off roading, will be it's calling. To add, I have many tasteful mods planned already, and I'll be sure to post here. She's already loaded with 35s in the bed for installation tomorrow (Friday).
Thanks, all!

We also acquired our Ranger Raptor at MSRP (Ford gave us an additional factory rebate since it was a "special order") from Brad Howell Ford in Kokomo Indiana (thanks to Kevin and Brittany of Lite Brite Nation telling their YouTube fans of their great experience with Andy Redmond at this dealership). I will flat out say I was disappointed with the LOCAL dealers in Southern California that all wanted $5-10K over MSRP (some of these dealers I have bought numerous, 10s..., cars from in the past and they would not even consider selling one to me at MSRP). What I have seen is that in addition to Brad Howell There are a number of other ethical dealers selling Raptors at MSRP - provided the buyer is willing to call around and likely go out of state (yeah I could have had the vehicle shipped to SoCal, for $500 demanded by the local dealers to take the shipment... but wanted to enjoy a road trip and see some friends along the way home).
I really feel that if more buyers were willing to shop around, and shun short sighted dealers, such as those that populate my area, we would see this practice of charging ADM's (Additional Dealer Mark-ups) end. I have also meet personally with some senior people at Ford, including Will Ford, and they absolutely HATE what some dealers are doing as they know it puts Ford in a bad light. It's also MY OPINION that Ford knows who the good dealers are and send them additional allotments of vehicles (I can't prove this but not only did mine come in mid-April but another was delieved shortly after mine).
Bottom Line: It's up us the Buyer to shop around and do OUR homework. I will also say everytime I walk up to this amazing machine I feel good about the reseach and work to find a good dealer - which makes me smile everytime my wife or I start it up!
