Just picked up my Ranger on Saturday and need something for the bed, how does this thing 'mount'? I assume it doesn't just lay in the bed? Or am I wrong.
It is just a rubber mat that lays in the bed.

Thanks, this has me leaning toward the BedRug Impact then. I need some protection but one of my main uses is sliding my BPS Pond Prowler in and out and if Ford mat is just laying there I can promise it will stick/get hung and make me swear a lot =)

Appreciate the info.

Yep, if sliding things on it is your goal.
The rubber mat is not a good option.

I specifically put rubber mats in all my trucks and those are on top of my spray liners as well as drop in liners to prevent objects from sliding around.

A carpet liner or even a plastic drop in liner would either one be better suited to aiding in sliding of your boat in and out.

I have the Bedrug Impact mat and really like it. Had the standard OEM bed mat + spray in liner in my F150 previously. The Impact mat is comfier to sit on and kneel on because of the material and how it sits in the channels to have flat top. Paradoxically it allows you to slide things like a couch but also has great grip to keep things where they are. I’ve only had things shift/move when I make a really hard brake to avoid a collision or a quick light change. The big selling point for me was the fact it lines the tailgate as well and flows seamlessly into the bed. So far it’s been real easy to wipe off dirt/sand as well. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Thanks for the details Gator, I actually installed mine on Friday and I really like it. I also found that you can slide stuff but it also stays in place really well, and yea waaaaay better to crawl around on when you have to. Definitely one of those products that lives up to the hype.

I got my truck Saturday.
I logged in Monday and had 0 points.

Checked again today, and I now have 42000 points, assuming it was from my truck purchase on Saturday. So I would say 2-3 days after your purchase you should see your points available.

That rubber bed mat is only 29000 points, you should have plenty to make it work out to be free.

They have 15% off too. Not sure if the 15 % off works with the points.

I got my mat through the dealer with my points and it sits on top of my spray in liner. The mat is awesome and is super stout and a perfect fit, totally worth it. My mat took so long to arrive that I went and did the spray in liner so it’s just added protection.

Ok, now here is the question from a truck newby. Is a mat alone good enough if you just use the bed for mostly recreational use (i.e. throw your sports equipment in), and otherwise just have a cover ontop ? Or is it wise to simply go with a spray in bed liner ?
Yes / For everyday use the rubber bed mat is perfect. I had a spray in Line X bed liner in my 2005 Ranger and it was too much. Its too much money for somebody that uses the bed once in a while
