Brake pedal noise! I have a sound clip. It drives me crazy! Took it to dealer twice and was told it's normal?!

Every time I step on the brake pedal it makes a squeaking noise. Has anyone experienced the same issue? Even when the truck is not running. And Ford says it's normal due to the electric brake system. I was told that the brake system is not like the old ones, and there is no code or anything that shows it's wrong.

I asked him if it was because the brake pedal needed lubrication or there was some problem with the bolts, and he said the brakes were a whole thing and there was nothing wrong with them.

It might disappear and the service guy wants me to wait a few months and to see what's going on. He said that safety-wise is fine.

Really annoying.

On a lot of the newer vehicles and engines they use now, do not have a manifold vacuum tap for the brake assist and now use a separate vacuum pump electric motor with line check valves. Makes for some weird noises with the brake actuation sometimes.

Normal in that everybody will experience, probably not. Normal in the sense it could be expected, possibly.

You have already done your due diligence with the dealer visit and I think it is one of those things that just needs to be monitored and it may work it's way through as they said or if it gets worse to something else, you at least have it documented already.

I wouldn't consider that 'Normal' or acceptable. Mine doesn't make any noise at all. Something is wrong, in this case, a noise on a brand new pick-up. The fault doesn't have to be fatal. You dealer is Lazy. I'd complain quite a bit more loudly to the general manager were you bought the truck. I'm seeing it as probably a pretty easy fix. Track the noise- replace the part that's making it. It should not be making it. If they stay lazy, try another dealer that has a good yelp in service / complain to the regional manager. That would drive my insane. and pizz me off.

True. He told me I can leave the truck at the dealer If I want to get it fixed. He said it might take up to a week and he will have to talk to Ford engineers. You are right, they are just being lazy, and fuck them. Now I am pissed. I am just gonna go to another dealer. What kind of a new truck makes a noise like that?

 Hum so when would that sound of a defective electric brake booster become a defect in your opinion, when you no longer have brakes?

Mine doesn't sound like that it sounds like a metal rod going through a rubber grommet, kind of a whooshing sound or hydraulic sound, not a clunking sound like his.
PS: dealership mechanics hate chasing down squeaks and rattles, most of them just kind of refuse.

Maybe I'll take it in, kind of figure the dealership mechanics don't know much about this truck yet. I don't want them to make something worse trying to fix it.

Took it to another dealer and left my truck for one day. Issue found. They ordered a new electric brake booster for me. Thanks them. Some dealers are really being lazy and unprofessional.
Electric Brake Booster is fancy words for a electric vacuum pump and about what I figured it was making that noise.

Glad to hear you found a dealer to address it better.
