Going from a single vendor solution to now needing multiple vendors and multiple parts along with complexity =/= cost savings. Not everything in this world is driven by profits. Ford specifically switched to this system to prevent people from putting diesel in their gas trucks and various other preventative measures that can not simply be defeated by a flat screw driver. How does it work?
Because fuel is corrosive and other dirt and grime build up there which will over time eat away at the paint in the the socket, unless you are some god among men who shakes 3 times and never manages to have any drops. You sound like my mother telling me to clean my belly button, if it isn't broken why bother cleaning in there!
So you could say the fuel door locking mechanisim is too expensive to source for the US built Rangers, so they decided not to include it? Whereas the Thai built models which have the same fuel filling system, have a locking door. I'll say it again, sounds like costs savings to me....Going from a single vendor solution to now needing multiple vendors and multiple parts along with complexity =/= cost savings. Dude... that's like not cleaning your gentleman's sausage. Your naval grows the really stanky bacteria, like cheese and rotten fish. Ugh... nasty. You sound like my mother telling me to clean my belly button, if it isn't broken why bother cleaning in there!
How'd you know? Dude... are you stalking me?unless you are some god among men who shakes 3 times and never manages to have any drops.
The front grab handle was not included do to safety issues with the current airbag setup and pillar design. What about not having aircon vents in the rear? Costs savings or no?
Got my space telescopes tracking you. How'd you know? Dude... are you stalking me?
No they don't - it's the same capless fuel filler that the US has, you even get the funnel needed to fill up with a jerry can. The only difference is the door locks on the Thai built modelsI've never been to Thailand, but maybe they have the older style filler with a cap? That could necessitate locking gas doors. Just a theory.
But the Thai built models have airbags in the pillars too... The Ranger has a 5star ANCAP rating which needs to have airbags pretty much all round. The grab handles don't seem to effect the airbags or crash safety rating at all?The front grab handle was not included do to safety issues with the current airbag setup and pillar design. You are going to believe whatever conspiracy theory plot you already think is true, so there is no argument to be had to try and convince you that you are wrong about what is cost savings vs things being removed or changed for auxiliary reasons.
The non US version raptor also has better quality seats that don’t wrinkle and look like ass. They also have usb ports on the mirror for dash cams and stuff. Let’s face it the US version just feels like they half assed it lol.I agree with @stuartmunto , seems more like a cost savings than anything else.
