I searched but couldn’t find a thread. My glove box (2024 xlt sport) has a lock. Both my keys fit but won’t turn. What am I missing ? Why would ford put a lock that doesn’t work.
My f150 has one but came with a different key than the ignition.

Had the same issue when I picked mine up from the dealer, they took a look at it and got it to work not sure what they had to do. Might be worth just swinging by your dealer and asking them to get it working for your key

Think I will, just hit 1200 miles and want the oil changed. Still have my FordPass points so will schedule it up.

I had the same issue. The keys fit, but the lock wouldn’t turn. I ended up turning it pretty hard, to the point where I thought the key was going to break, and the lock broke free. It works fine now.

I tried what you said, I put a small crescent wrench on the key to not break the remote and Voila it Worked. Thank You for the info. Now I can change my own oil and not wait 4+ hours for the Dealer to show me dirty trans fluid or air filter with only 1200 miles on her !
Thanks again for everyone on this forum.

Just noticed I had the same issue. Key fit, it would only turn a little. Put a small crescent wrench on it and moved it back and forth and one good turn and it broke it free. Now the key turns and locks the glovebox without any problem. Thanks for the tip! I would suggest using the spare key for this just in case something weird happens.

I wonder how many people have snapped their remote/key trying this haha

These forums are great. It wasn’t so long ago to get information I had to ride to the library find a book (if they had it) read just about the entire thing then go home and try out what you found. How lucky we are to have all this information literally right at our fingertips

True, I never knew I had this problem until I saw this thread. Eventually, I would have discovered the issue.
