Did i buy the right truck?

I’ve got the 2025 XLT 2.7L 4x4 with as much equipment as offered. This truck has the feel of the F-150 with the ease of parking and great power/torque for occasional towing. For the average size guy the interior is roomy and relatively comfortable. So far I haven’t gotten below 25 mpg with mostly highway driving. The Maverick is built on the cheaply made Escape FWD SUV (works for some peoples use/budget) and is more economy car than truck. Wasn’t a difficult choice for me especially with the Ranger boasting the only V6 in its class these days other than the Nissan. If you got $50k plus for a new truck… a little more in fuel is a sweet trade off for the satisfying 2.7L TT. Needless to say I love mine so far. I’m not a fan of black trucks but it’s starting to grow on me… hopefully you will warm up to yours too. Best wishes

Parkng a full size truck is a way more of a chore.

I greatly prefer the Ranger (non Raptor) over the MAV. Longer trips were uncomfortable and my knees always hit the edges of the door and center console. The truck was great in concept, but with real world applications it kind of sucked. I’d get a Santa Cruz before another Mav honestly. Agreed the F-150 is actually best, but the size was always an issue for me. I feel like mid-sized trucks are perfect and actually pretty big compared to full sized 80/90’s trucks.

Also the Mav was definitely made cheaper over all. It’s a 5 year truck at best, while a ranger could keep up for at least 15years.

I switched from a Mercedes E350 sedan to a Ranger XLT FX4 4WD. I love everything about the truck expect the gas mileage. Even with the 2.3L, I get about 20mpg with mostly city driving, in eco mode all the time.
It's a tradeoff. I did test drive the Maverick as well, and to put your mind at ease a little, the Maverick doesn't feel like a truck, it feels like a rather cramped small SUV. Lot lower seating position than the Ranger as well.

Oh that was not clear, i have owned a few 2.7L F150s and they are very good this 2.7 Ranger is worse on fuel.. my F150 was a 3.5 Ecoboost

There is no way that Ranger is worse on fuel than a 3.5 eco F150. You must be doing something wrong.

I was hell bent on getting a Maverick Tremor. To the point that I had put two $1,000 deposits on Mavericks at two different dealership while waiting for the recall stop-sale to be lifted. Then my wife and I test drove a 2.7l Ranger Lariat. There was no comparison in build quality and the buttery smoothness of the V6 - well I guess you know how the story ended.

Your thoughts on the maverick are incorrect. The Maverick drive well on long trips and the seats are comfortable. I drove from Pennsylvania to Florida multiple times and had no comfort problems. To your other point I have had my maverick 2 1/2 years with 34k miles with no problems and will keep it another ten years.

Yea, I would like to get my maverick on a track and see what it can do. Today I drove three hours in my Ranger from Pennsylvania to New York comfortable and nice drive.

I don’t know about the 2.7 but my ranger raptor is definitely worse than the 3.5 f150. I average 15/17 in raptor and 17/22 in my 3.5. It’s the only thing I hate about the raptor.
