SL is most likely brighter my only gripe with it is the fitment. They are a little shaky, not sure if it's because of the brackets.

I decided to go with Diode dynamics as they will most likely survive the cold winters here a little better over the long term

Let me ask y'all this....

Do these blind oncoming traffic or do they cast much brighter light in the same general place as the factory fog lights?

I can only speak for signaturelux fogs, but I specifically aimed mine closer to the ground for low beam but I have not really used it in high beam mode on the road.

Ummmm I think that on my RR and every other vehicle I ever owned that had fog lights, the fog lights turned off when the high beams turned on. Am I missing something?

My experience, SL fitment was spot-on w/ a nice-n-tight install.
Early release versions struggled with US spec fitment [ie difference in AUS bracketing, screws etc.].

My take after ~3mos use...no 'feedback' from opposing drivers flashing etc.
Beam pattern properly controlled, although no 'self-leaving' similar to OE headlights.
The hi-setting is certainly a nice option and level up for brightness.

Diode Dynamics fog lights are SAE compliant. You will have to adjust them after install to get correct level but there should be a very distinct cutoff with no glaring past a certain horizon line.

Correct...
However, Forscan provides additional options for fog functionality:
  • Pairing with DRLs [always on]
  • Turn activation
  • "Bambi' mode [remain active w/ hi-beams]

As for SL, no install 'adjustments' required since design, fitment same as OE

With Forscan coding, chose pairing SL fogs with DRLs...

I believe I have the new brackets. I just see them bounce when I go on bumps so I can’t imagine when I take them offroad. Afraid I would have to readjust it periodically. Either way my bumper got messed up recently and replacing it with an aftermarket one, so these SL fogs will either go to storage or member marketplace.

I went with a set of SigLux on my xlt and am very happy with them. In the low beam setting they have a nice sharp cut off lines so you are not blinding other drivers and high beam setting is a nice option for back roads.
The only downside side I would note is that occasionally when I start the truck they will activate the high beam setting and if you have the fogs off when you turn the wheel the fog on the side you are turning towards will illuminate as a cornering light. When this happens one fog light may be on high beam and the other on low. This happens because the way to switch between low and high is to turn them off and on again to flip between the two settings.
Personally I activated (Bambi mode) so my fogs stay on with the auto high beams and this provides a ton of light.
