I wasn't interested in the whole system which is in two parts, only the rear section which the call the tail pipe section - above post. I am perfectly happy with my sound in Baja mode and am not considering the complete system. Given the price of the rear section and cost to install I'm probably not considering that either - Prbably after shipping you are looking at around $3000 and while I wouldn't install myself just looking at the pictures/install instructions it looks like no welding is involved BUT you handy boys could install it . Nothing against Borla at all as I have had their systems on a Mustang GT and the '19 Lariat I had before my RR. So the rear section eliminates the resonators and I asked them if it had any performance benefits their response "and removing the resonators will free up about 3 to 5 extra horsepower." Cosmetically I would want the section rear of the tips to be the same finish as the tip something like the Australian tips which are black past the point to where they disappear, but again they are pricey and with shipping from down under they are probably about the same price is the Borla rear section with no performance increase albeit small for the Borla. I'd love to have the whole thing but beside the price it would be hard to do it without the wife finding out.

The complete system does sound really good
Yeah no welding was involved in my install (I did it myself) but I agree I'd just do the tailpipes if I had to do it again

Why would you do just the tail pipes if you had to do it over again?

I think just getting rid of the resonators alone by having the Borla tailpipes would make a great sound

Depending upon your wife's sense of humor and curiosity, you can tell her Christmas is coming. She can have one of the three boxes on the table or what is now installed on the Ranger behind Garage Door #1.

Would this be the same as just having a shop remove the resonator and weld in straight pipes? I’ve thought about buying the Borla tailpipes, but I’m trying to see if they’re worth the price since it’s cheaper to just have a shop remove the resonator.

It's up to you at that point because I wouldn't really see a difference if you just straight pipe the tailpipes by a shop

Thanks for confirming! Yeah, I might go that route unless I can snag a good deal on those Borla tailpipes, they do look nice! And thanks for sharing the exhaust sound; it definitely sounds meaner.

I am wondering why everyone talks about Borla, but no one ever talks about Magna flow exhaust. I don't even see videos of the Magna flow exhaust on the R/R on YouTube.

That’s probably why they don’t talk about it if we are not seeing it

I have had both Magnaflow and Borla. When I put Magnaflow on a V8 2010 F150 FX4, the price was right. it sounded great out the back. There was drone in the cab that got louder at speed. The tubing was regular stuff, nothing special, not Mandrel bent. Warranty was three years. The tips rusted over time. The clamps rusted and broke. The tubing rusted. That took four years. Borla has what amounts to a lifetime warranty. The tubing is Mandrel bent. The sound on my 3.5L Ecoboost V6 is great. No drone. No interior noise. After five years, no rust anywhere. The black chrome tips shine. I paid a lot more for Borla plus installation. Will I buy Borla again? Absolutely. Magnaflow? No.

I had Borla on my '02 Mustang and on my '19 Lariat bought from Ford and dealer installed for $100. I have been following the Borla stuff for the RR and would only consider the rear section (minimal 3-5 HP increase they say) but shipped and installed probably looking at at least $1200. Got the Ford tune and the S/B CAI and if I do another upgrade the Borla would be it. The tips on my Lariat went 5 snow/salt winters and still shinned up like new. My issue is that I'd want the 12" or so behind the tips to be black like the tips and that would be another $100 or so :)

I reached out to Borla stating that before I purchase, I would like to hear some other Sounds in normal mode and sport mode. They put back that there are only two modes. Baja mode and the mode that you’re hearing through your speakers. I told them that’s not the case with the ranger raptor more with the explorer ST. They are stating otherwise with their engineers. Anyone have any knowledge on this?

Are the tail pipes able to be pushed in more on the exhaust tubes? Looks like they stick out past the bumper and tow hooks? Might be camera angle too.
