I have a 2025 Ranger XLT FX4 with the 2.7 liter, it only has 700 miles on it, but I've noticed a noise at low speeds or idle. It's a quiet tump-tump-tump-tump noise that is only heard from in the cab and when not in park. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a normal operating noise or should I get it looked at?

If that's the case I would be putting a stethoscope on the bell housing, thinking torque converter but just a shot in t dark

Just to add but I assumed and should not have, but It does NOT make this noise in park at idle correct?

Mine started making this noise around 3,000 miles. There is another thread about a knocking noise similar to yours, https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/2-7l-engine-tapping-knocking-noise-with-video.20409/. I posted a video of my noise in that thread. It only makes the knocking noise at low idle when the truck is warmed up and it has to be in gear, drive or reverse. It does not make the noise in park. Pretty sure the sound is coming from the transmission. My truck drives perfectly, no issues, so I have decided to ignore it for now. I also could not come up with a name for my truck, it is now known as Thumper.

Thumper is an excellent name! I watched your video and mine is making the same exact noise under the same circumstances. Hoping its nothing but I am gonna keep an eye on it.

Mine does it also. 13500 miles and has done it since new. I used a stethoscope and the sound was loudest at the high pressure fuel pump at the back of the engine. I think the pump is cam driven which may cause the sound.

To be sure I'm clear, do you hear the sound with the truck standing still or only when moving? Does revving the engine (higher RPM's) change the pitch of the sound or the frequency?

Noise is heard when in drive or park with foot on the brake. You can hear it letting off the brake but goes away quickly.

From what I'm gathering, this just sounds like a quirk of the 2.7
