I can’t quite believe I got an XL 4x4 with a locker for $32,500. I just love this truck, including the 2.3L Mustang engine. Best value on the market by a mile.

Toyota pricing is preposterous these days. Chevy has done some nasty decontenting, like removing 4-Lo from many lower 4x4 trims. And the Frontier is just old. I like Nissan and think the Fronty is a solid value, but that platform’s been around during the Bush II administration.

Seriously, the Ranger with the 2.7 is the best mid-size truck available (in my biased opinion). Ford just needs to fix the valve body issues with their 10-speed transmission. Every time I get into the boost, it puts a smile on my face. I would love to have a RR but the 2.7 is pretty dang good.
I'm not aware of any valve body issues, the 5th gen had some CDF drum issues, but you'd be unique if you had a valve body issue on a 6G Ranger.

ADDENDUM: I suppose the trade-off with the Colorado is that lower trims do get 4-Auto, at the expense of any Low range.

To me, this seems like a choice to focus the truck more on lifestyle buyers than serious users. That’s fine. I get it. But a 4x4 truck without a Low range seems very incomplete to me. When you need 4-Lo, you really need it. I use it quite a bit for trail work in my Jeep.

Mine has some hard shifts every once in a while but not too bad. I am keeping alert. Right now, I am at 12,000 miles and less than 1-year.
Yeah I think that occasional hard shift seems to be the nature of the 10 speed. I have the 10R140 in my f350, it has 32K on it and I still get an occasional hard shift or if I'm slowing down and it's downshifting, If I hit the gas it sometimes misses a shift or just revs then engages, kind of like it's trying to catch up to my commands.
But it towed my 5th wheel all around this country and through the mountain passes without issue and looking for more.

I am contemplating ordering a 2026 Ranger Lariat with the 2.7 liter V6 and Off Road package. Looks like you can now order a power moon roof. Do you think I would be better off installing the hard folding cover my self rather than ordering it through the dealer? I would like to install the Real Truck Black MX4 Backflip. Also, since I do want the Chrome Accent package, I am going to order special running board with chrome accent.

Only benefit I see to Ford optioned cover is I think it'd be covered by Ford B2B 3yrs 36k mi.

My 2025 RR listed for $59,885 with shipping and now it builds out at $61,835 with shipping, so a little over 3% increase. Glad to see the code orange stayed, but know others on here hate it.

We now have to 2 whites for the RR and no red. Not understanding that one since we have a red for the regular Ranger on the same assembly line.

Why does the RR not get the new Moon Roof option, and the lower trims do?

My dealer has a new 25 RR now and is showing a discount of $2,700 off the list. Anyone on the fence should consider a 25 in my opinion.

Did the tires change on the 2026 RR? When I zoom in it looks like it says PROXES on the sidewall

This kit appears to have the exact pins OP used. I've tried to find individual ones that are the exact same style but no luck. Unfortunately you'll have 428 pins left over when you're done lol. Going to be ordering this set and trying to tackle it - seems easy enough.
I guess to each their own, I'm not just old school but also just old so I like the chrome. If you recall "It aint cool if your chrome don't shine" you'll know what I mean.
I can't stand all these BAP cars and trucks around these days, but again, that's just me.
I ordered one like this;
2026 Ranger Lariet .webp
that doesn’t look bad at all 👍

I think everyone has their preferences and it is good to have some options for different tastes

I thought about the flexing as well, but the frame is beefed up a lot from the standard Ranger, and the F150 Raptor has had a double moon roof for years. I can not find a moon roof on the Aus. site for any Ranger. Maybe they need to engineer that in on day one of the design, and the Aussies designed the Ranger to begin with.
