How long did it take and cost? Still got to get the ceramic coating, and a dash cam put in.
I want to say that the Sound deadening was probably a day or two, I left the truck there all week, it was getting several things done to it besides the sound deadening work.

Labor was around $900, the materials I supplied, cost I want to say was around $400.
I used Dynamatt and a multi layer Siles material on top of the Dynamat .

All the estimates I had from stereo shops in the area were anywhere from $1500-$4000.
None were using the name brand material I wanted either. So I was pretty happy with what I paid for mine.

Truck is still in the shop getting its stealth ppf wrap and stuff done to it.

I did pay my OK tag office a visit today, and paid the taxes and picked out, and picked up a plate for it.

I almost always get a 001 plate and my tag office gal had a 001 saved for me, but got to thinking maybe this truck needs a different plate, something kind of special to the 500 hp v8 project.
Went with 500 this time for tribute to the new motors HP .

Stopped in to check the stealth PPF wrap .

Seems to be going pretty well .
The bed , tailgate , hood, front fenders , and roof were all done . He had just started on the mirrors this morning .

The doors will be last , the Dynamat will also get installed while the door panels are off . Those have to come off anyway to remove the door handles .

Doing a full Matte PPF wrap is quite the job.

Here is a few pics of the progress.

Thanks !
I definitely understand what others that had this matte done have said about how it now shows the body lines off much more then the gloss black.

Once the PPF wrap is done it gets a ceramic coating on top of it.
Really looking forward to seeing how it looks when it’s all done.
I am pretty sure today was probably the first time I had ever seen a matte PPF wrap in person.
‘I am thinking I am really going to like it. What I saw today was really looking good.

I am looking at ceramic coating next month. What brand are you considering and how many top coats? There are so many options and requirements for annual touch up.

Yeah, thats why I went with Rocklear on my truck. Once it cures, that's it. 15 year warranty. Plus any chips, scratches can be fixed like normal clear coat. low grit, to high grit then polishout with a buffer and they gone! Luckily, i have no chips yet..but Im sure I'll get one.

I thought your truck already had PPF unless you just applying to plastics, etc or confusing your truck image with another..

I have learned it’s very common to ceramic coat PPF wraps. Almost seems like it’s the norm for full PPF wraps. There is actually some PPF films that just recently came out that have the ceramic coating already infused into the film.

Suntek has a Ceramic infused PPF film but it’s only offered in clear so far.
For my Matte PPF the ceramic coating has to be applied separately on top of the matte PPF.

Nice! I’m liking the matte more than I thought I would.

Does the sound deadening (Dynamat?) make a big difference? Where all are you getting it installed? I’d really like to quiet mine down a bit.

Most stereo shops offer sound deadening installation.
‘My PPF / wrap / detail guy has been doing mine.

Sorry, I had meant where in the truck. Are you doing just the doors or are you doing the roof, floor, behind dash, behind rear seats…
I do the doors and roof.
‘Then we drop the fender liners and apply a little under there as well as a spray on material then reinstall the fender liners.

It makes a noticeable difference.
Especially with the roof, if you have ever been in a Ranger in the rain , that roof can get really loud.
Not anymore, the sound deadening stops that noise for sure.

The doors just feel super solid and overall quieter inside.

I do still wish Ford would upgrade the glass in the doors.
I think Toyota and maybe some others use acoustic double layer glass in the doors.

I have had both my white RRs sound deadened now for several months.
I like it and it was noticeable Whst little I drove the black RR prior to dropping it off to get it installed in it.

I use the Dynamat as base layer and then the multilayered Stiles material goes on top of the Dynamat .

Probably not necessary to layer or do all that but most of the cost is the labor. I figure use the best materials I can get when bulk of the expense is labor.

I do that with pretty much anything like that from paint on house to window tint on a vehicle etc etc etc.

This member her has some really good DIY videos showing the process.

Awesome - thanks! Not sure if I feel the time spent to DIY will outweigh my available time with three little ones. Will look to outsource this one! Glad to hear it makes a noticeable difference. That's something I notice each time I close the doors - they sound a bit hollow. Would like to solid the truck up a bit...

Looks like you're overdue for a signature update! :giggle:

I found the XLT was quiet in the beginning. I guess as the seals wore in it became nosier.
I am going to drop part of the headliner and install a bolt on roof rack.
Maybe do the rear cab panel at that time. I must find some of those plastic panel tools to hopefully not damage clips. Get the tools to apply the sound deadener
