Routine maintenance and inspection of Braking System.

I only put on average 7000 KM a year on the Ranger. City, with short commute.

Every 7K i will rotate the tires and inspect the brakes.

Would like to clean the Brakes. Garage mechanic or outside.

What would you suggest.

Is it good to remove the caliper and clean with Brake Clean/ scrub with tooth brush/ blow off.

When would you dismantle the slides and lubricate with correct grease.

Maybe at 7K just blow the brake system off, check rotors and thickness of pads, and uneven wear.

Maybe its best to not screw with it until the pads need changing. New rotors.

i think Ford is asking too much out of the rear braking system. Electric E Brake activated every time motor is shut off.

For some new drivers in the Ranger, the way you have to get the truck moving before the e brake disengages would be surprising.

i will have to look through manual to see what is suggested.

Also, when would you have the Brake fluid flushed. i think the average is every 3 years.

Bought my truck in april 2025. October 2025 I had 12,420 kms on it. when I did my oil change, I inspected the brakes, and the pins were bone dry, so I lubed em up. every 5-7k I do an oil change, and 8-9k I rotate tires and generally I inspect the brakes, but I never had my socket set when I rotated at 8500kms in August, so I left em. but glad I lubed em up before the Newfoundland salty winters. lol

Great !.

I am just putting my info on Car Fax for my services. Have to load my receipts and pictures ie. odometer.

Since there is so many sensors I will be doing a long term Warranty.
Maybe this will be my last vehicle. I hope.

@ShadowDragon24

When will you change the Transmission oil / filter . From other owners it does not look like you need a high volume pan for cooling. Would like the drain plug. Will have to get under my Ranger and check the dip stick. There's a producer to do that. i have a hard enough time with messy oil changes. Tranny if you do not have a large pan can be very messy.
