What the heck.
I'd fly to Iowa and drive one back.
What color are you looking for?
There was one in ND that I was considering driving back, but that dealer is yet another who won't answer the damn phone. I'm looking for Carbonized Grey with Avalanche as my second option. Seems that is the most popular right now.

I still have yet to be able to see Marsh Grey in person. In photos, some look good and some look like purified dog poo

The problem seems to be that a lot of those listed trucks don't actually exist for sale...

As stated by many get out of California it was the best thing I did about 10 years ago. Just look out of state that will be your best bet on getting a good price and drive or ship it back.I had no luck with my local dealership treated me like crap so I went online to ford and put my color and options showed me what's in stock what is coming. found a place about 1-2 hours away called them up was the best experience. ask for Angel

The 2025 White Ranger Raptor at Long McArthur in Salina just sold at $3K under MSRP. Had been there for a while.

If anyone wants a good deal on a 25 model , I would highly suggest picking up the pace and get one while they still can. $2-$4K off MSRP on a 25 model RR is what I would consider a good deal worth taking.

If you want to fly to Oklahoma, I have a Shelter Green one at MSRP. DM me if you're interested.

The trucks are out there, you just have to look a little harder and farther (and maybe fly to pick one up). I've never done it, but personally I think flying out and driving a new truck home would be a heck of a road trip.

I am also finding it is extremely difficult to get a RR locally. I live in Denver, so lots of disposable income and people apparently just willing to pay the markups. All the dealers within 100+ miles are essentially useless unless you want to give them the "sucker tax". My broker isn't having much luck further out either. Lots of dealers aren't even returning his calls.

I had looked in 2024 and didn't have any luck, so I got a Canyon AT4X. When that ended violently a month ago, I was really hoping in 2026 that it would be a lot easier to get one of these trucks. Apparently not so much...
I suggest you look nationally. Pick your color and do a nationwide search. Believe you'll find one for less than MSRP. It took me 3 months to find a dealership that didn't charge markups and in fact my dealership discounted mine to near invoice. It was on the lot and they wanted to move iron. Had in shipped to me about 1500 miles for a grand. Dealer handled everything, I couldn't be happier. Love my Raptor!

Probably the best one is to fly out and drive back if you've got the time. No better way to learn about your new truck than a great experience along the way!
My buddy did this when he bought his hennessey raptor. He lives in western colorado and flew to virginia beach to get it. The dealer picked him up and had everything ready so it was quick and he was driving home. He said it was totally worth it to get to know the truck

I have done the fly-n-buy strategy for a used truck, but never had the need for new stuff. Until now. I called several more local dealers today and struck out. The listed trucks are gone before they even arrive. Almost guaranteed I’ll need to go out of state

So after all the recommendations here and watching RR's get sold below MSRP locally (now zero balance), what has the OP decided?

We saw a Marsh Gray yesterday in the commissary parking lot. My wife said it looked like mushroom soup or something the cat yacked up.

Even between last night at 7:30pm and this morning the Marsh Gray used one I was going to look at locally disappeared from the dealer's website and they told me it sold last night. The Denver area is insane, so yeah... that fly-n-buy is looking like a likely option.

Well that was fun... 4 weeks of pulling out hair and not getting called back, and my broker found me a 2026 for MSRP this morning.

Driving to Nebraska to pick it up tomorrow morning
