So turn by turn directions just appeared

I have a 24 Lariat. When using Android Auto I've always had a tiny arrow at the top of the dash display telling me where to turn. This morning, a much bigger display showed up for about 5 minutes, then disappeared. A few lights later it's was there again.
Picture shows the big directions on the bottom. I've never seen this before on this truck. I like it, but it doesn't seem to stick around for very long. Had anyone else seen this?

I don’t remember if it was default or had to be enabled with a menu but my Lariat shows that large center view when very close to the turn and upcoming turns further out go up between the 4 gauges at the top.

This feature has been working in my truck for the last 2 years. It appears when you're about .3 miles away from a turn and then it goes away when you make the turn.

I have found this only works with certain navigation apps. For instance, you do not get the integration using Waze. But Google Maps it does show up.
