Front bumper light brackets

Cool thanks, I might just nutsert the lights onto the steel portion of the bumper.

I'm not sure how that would work, but I'm hoping you figure it out.

I was thinking the steel bumper is strong enough to take a rivet nut. Then I would thread the light bracket into it directly onto the bumper.

Or, just make the upper portion of the brackets with two 6" corner brace, a piece of series 20 aluminum t rail, and a couple 1/2" holes. That was what started me down this path. I got this wild idea for flush mounted lower pods instead of hanging them from the bar, saw some others had done it, and decided to combine the two ideas into one bracket. But seriously, if you don't mind the lights sitting off the front, you could high and low mount those lights for driving and low visibility.

Thanks yes that what I was thinking. I not too worried about it looking “stock” my rack on the roof is oversized and the rack I have on the bed has custom standoffs.

I see. You haul Frankenstein's monster on a gurny on your roof.

The black corner braces at HD are less than $8 each, and if you have a 12mm metal bit, even better than 1/2". Have a steady hand and some cutting lubricant. I use 3n1 1/4hp motor oil. For spacers, I used 3 stainless washers behind each bracket, for about 7mm I think, if you wanted to try and 3d print something. I have mine floating between the bumper and fascia, but if you want to be safe you may want to put a small piece of helicopter tape (ppf) on the bumper in case the brackets shift. Edit: or rest the bracket flush on the bumper for extra bounce resistance.

Ever seen these MBRP brackets? They mount to OEM hardware in the bumper valance.



wonder if these are running quad lights if that has any direct effect on the cooling of the engine?

Those block too much airflow to the intercooler. Not a bad option if you plan to run a high-mount IC to fit a winch plate in there, though.

The MBRP bracket looks like the best option if it can fit some BD Squadrons or similar lights in that space without having to modify anything. You can relocate the middle cruise control sensor to up and behind the grill for more airflow if you are worried about that.

Hopefully someone makes a behind the grill bracket like in the f150 for us.

Some of the behind the grill brackets require removal of the shutters to fit pod lights back there. Something I noticed on a pod light bracket sold in Australia. Cool idea, though.

My truck is a NA '24 model. These were a proof of concept I slapped together in my garage. A finished product will be at least a few more months out, but should be able to fit the Diode Dynamic SS3 pods and a bunch of others, but anything other than slotted mounting holes and shims (for height) will require customization I'm not sure I'm ready to take on. Lots of light options out there.

Would you prefer slotted holes, or a blank bottom plate that you drill out at home?

First off, thank you so much for doing this and documenting it. I was going to start looking into doing this exact thing using the exact same DDSS3s.
Once you get it flushed out I would definately be into getting some, paying for the dimensions, whatever is easier for you.
Personally I would like slotted holes for adjustment.

First off, thank you so much for doing this and documenting it. I was going to start looking into doing this exact thing using the exact same DDSS3s.
Once you get it flushed out I would definately be into getting some, paying for the dimensions, whatever is easier for you.
Personally I would like slotted holes for adjustment.

Those SS3s are fantastic lights. I'll see what I can come up with, because I want to make this as user friendly as possible.
