I have the 2.7L engine but Iāve also had coolant consumption without obvious leaking. Iām curious what checks they did before the cylinder inspection that did NOT identify the problem, e.g. did it pass a pressure test?
Just google ātire size calculatorā and plug in the details for your current tires and for the tires youāre considering. Many of them will tell you directly how it affects diameter/height/speedo accuracy.
I havenāt experimented with the 12V plug but I know the bed lights can be turned on even with the engine not running, although they will automatically turn off after a while. You just tap the bed lights button to the left of the steering wheel.
I canāt say whether this is a blocker, but every vehicle Iāve seen with the Pro towing option from the factory has an extra light to the left of the tailgate handle. So there may be other hardware differences too.
I canāt say for sure the tonneau from your 2021 wouldnāt fit but when I moved from a 2021 to a 2024 and bought the updated cover the installation was totally different (far easier). I think Iāve also seen others answer that it was close but just didnāt fit right. I wouldnāt count on it working.
Thatās why Iām quite curious about this new design: Iām wondering if that thin gap across the threads leading up to a hole is intended to allow oil to flow at a more controlled rate when you have the plug part-way removed??
Iām not sure why the hate for a plastic plug. Canāt strip the threads out by over tightening. Wonāt get seized due to corrosion. Canāt round the corners off a hex head. Unlike with metal youāre not relying on the threads to seal, youāve got a user-replaceable o-ring.
Still a fine idea to have...
You said they couldnāt diagnose it, does that mean you just bought a replacement cap out of pocket as a test or did you get them to replace it even though the leak test was clean?
Iāve never heard anything like youāre describing from my 2.7L ā24. The only time Iāve heard loud air noises was in a different car when one of the intake hoses popped off. Iād check to make sure your engine filter housing and other hoses are secure.
I have no way to independently validate this, but just based on hand-feel of the seating in my 2024 Lariat Iād say it seems accurate. I have personally used Meguires Quik Interior Detailer because it has no residue and it seems very mild.
There are a lot of possibilities. Just above someone posted a federally mandated Part 583 window tag identifying a 2025 model with 2.3L engine with "MEX" as country of origin. Similarly the consolidated disclosures from each auto maker posted by the NHTSA (which I linked to above) for the year...
Does it behave like a remote start where if you get in the vehicle you still have to press the start button again with the fob nearby to unlock the ability to shift and drive?
Wow, sounds like a great deal. You might inspect your CHMSL because I had a similar āalready installedā thing and when I went to uninstall it I found one wire loose because of a terrible crimp job. Make sure you donāt end up with a melted wire or non-functioning third brake light.
Hereās some answers straight from the source, e.g. definition of ācarlineā. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/subtitle-B/chapter-V/part-583
Interestingly it notes that you only have to list the top two foreign countries of origin if they represent at least 15% of content by value. So the...
I had a 2021 Lariat with just the LED cargo light as part of CHMLS and I personally found it to be of limited help in most cases. I think the 6G Ranger bed lighting is fantastic (on my 2024 Lariat), the only negative is that they only turn on with the bed light button in the cab, not with the...
I've not researched it in depth but I'm pretty sure the Raptor has hardware the non-Raptor doesn't have to support continuously varying engagement of the front axle with a multi-plate clutch (more like my European cars had). Don't believe it's just a software-enabled feature...
I think what youāre describing is exactly what I did, except I got mine from a Black Diamond Bronco on Facebook Marketplace. Details here: https://www.ranger6g.com/forum/threads/265-70-r17-bronco-black-diamond-take-offs-on-stock-lariat.22007/#post-319593
My suggestion would be to not mess with locking out the high gears to start, drive it for a while normally. Iām sure there are situations where itās useful otherwise the option wouldnāt exist, I just donāt believe itās very common. If used when itās unnecessary youāll just get worse mileage and...
