4,500lb seems like a lot compared to my trailer which is bigger. NuCamp seem to list the T@b 400 as 2,900lb dry, 3,900 GAWR. Is there something different about yours?
I just experienced the same issue. Had been working fine when driving a couple hours earlier and it was a dry moderate temperature evening. I opened the back door first and when I got in the drivers seat a message about "Vehicle is Powered Off" and alert noises were firing off rapidly. After it...
There is no option to do that. Ford manages the cellular connection from the day it’s built and the car uses it to transmit data back to Ford, download updates, offer you paid extras like Alexa, WiFi hotspot, etc.
It has no direct way to know if your hands are on the wheel so it guesses by detecting torque from you turning the wheel. On long straight sections requiring no input on the wheel it can’t tell if you’re paying attention or not so it warns, to be safe.
I think it's great to have an open mind about it. There's definitely a lot of opinions about WDH usage and even tribalism when it comes to brand loyalty. Even if it's too late to go camping this year you might find it a good excuse to use the new truck to pull your trailer to the nearest CAT...
I'm not sure how you meant it, but when I hear "not recommended" that suggests it could be harmful. Looking over the 2024 towing guide again I can't find anything suggesting you "should not" use a WDH with a Ranger, only several places that confirm it's not "required". Page 41 does have an...
Just a guess, but I suspect Ford probably intentionally chooses not to offer voltage display because most people wouldn’t understand the complexity of why “smart” alternators are constantly changing the voltage and it’d likely lead to a bunch of dealer visits and hurt their quality scores.
Lariat FX4 2.7L
General Grabber ATx LT265/70/R17 (rim and tire both Bronco Black Diamond takeoffs)
No lift or modifications except Ford mudflaps installed.
Independent GPS speed app agreed with speedo within 1 MPH so I didn't bother changing anything with Forscan.
In my own experience it only happens when the water sprays on the handle area. The touch sensors are capacitive and water in your body is the main thing capacitive sensors detect, so I have assumed that’s the cause.
@MedicineMan4040 the note about it stopping charging when ignition is off is anecdotal, I didn't test it in a controlled way to say that's 100% true in all conditions. Just a heads-up in case anyone relies on that being the case.
My personal recommendation would vary a lot depending on what...
@MedicineMan4040 this was a good reminder to follow-up on my original question here: On our last trip I wired an Orion XS inline (in the trailer) between the charge wire from the 7-way plug and the batteries. Prior to adding the Orion XS DC-DC charger I saw only infrequent and inconsistent...
Wanted to share a few observations from my experience picking up a set of 5 matching alloy wheels and tires from a Black Diamond Bronco. The Bronco rims have the same bolt pattern, +55 offset, and 7.5 inch width but are 17" instead of the factory Lariat 18's. The wheels came with their factory...
I think it's unintentionally revealing that all of the demo video footage happens in a parked car: 70% of the features shown (video games, Prime Video, video conferencing, etc) are the stuff that typically gets blocked once the vehicle is in motion. The other 30% is equivalent features on a...
This is what I just did on my non-RR. If you follow the pattern from the owners manual the spare is back off at the end and you put it back where it came from. Will do it this way again next time too.
I added the front and back OEM accessories. Like others have said they’re easy, just reinstall with the slightly longer included plastic rivets. Flexible enough they seem like they could get bumped and just go back to normal. I’d happily buy them again. I still get dirt on the running boards...
