Key there is “tuned” - without that, doubt cat back would do much vs stock. Modern OE performance exhaust systems are nothing like the old days, and increasing power on twin turbo cars like this is not as simple as simple reducing “back pressure” like on an N/A cars of the past. Insane tuning...
I really doubt this is true - exhaust mods from cats back on turbo cars have very little HP impact. If you did downpipes and removed cats and then tuned, you’d see a difference…but catback, I doubt it.
I think Ford slightly detuned so Braptor had the higher figure…at the price premium, I get...
Not a great solution though if you want it off in all modes. My R setting is aggressive, for sportier driving. My commute to work, which is more start / stop, is in normal mode…so I see why folks want to fully disable. I don’t mind pressing the button as part of my start routing so I won’t be...
Never felt abnormal for me, but I’m also coming from another off road focused truck with 33 K02s. This thing feels incredibly composed and stable at all speeds / conditions relative to that. You def sacrifice some ride quality with off road tires like this, but I must admit, they’re an amazing...
Yes but I think the best sounding brands put a ton of time and R&D into the midpipe setup / configuration…that’s where the biggest sound enhancements came from and I assume the same will be true here as this isn’t as simple as removing resonators and making it free flowing…it’s about shaping...
I can already tell, exhaust on this truck is gonna be a battleground of personal preferences. Reality is, a twin turbo six is one hell of an engine, but sound is not its strong suit, on any car. It will always have somewhat of a muffled tone, and there will be ways to work around it and...
Maybe you can check part numbers for several models of covers online and see if they’re the same for the different models? Maybe can download spec sheets too to see what’s different. Not what you asked, but generally what I do when I have an information gap like this.
Yes and I don’t care how good the tech is, when an engine comes out, no chance it all goes back as well as factory. If the car was 10 years old, fine. First year, I wouldn’t accept that.
Agree with most of the above, sans the vented seats. Would add power, cabin size / feel (and quiet) and bed width to the pros list, as the size really is perfect..larger then a normal mid sized, smaller than a bigger raptor, perfect.
I don’t understand where vented seats became standard...
I hear a whine / whistle, but it’s tied to engine rev/RPM, not vehicle motion so I assume this isn’t the same thing. I have owned / currently own other turbo cars so I’m familiar with turbo spool sound and it’s def not that. It almost sounds like a belt or pulley and I was assuming could be...
Same here - scared the crap out of me during my first trip to the train station garage. Thought I wrecked the roof of my new truck…thank god it was just that lighting rod!
Cravenspeed stubby on, along with a paint correction and 5 year ceramic coating to keep her fresh. She’ll be living outside for all her life, but gets to enjoy one night indoors as the ceramic cures…looks extra beastly after seeing a tiny M2CS here usually ever day :)
Couldn’t agree more, and that’s coming from a guy who owns a 350/Voodoo…and I love that thing like a child…and I love this truck already too. So I’m not trying to blow this out of proportion but rather see if we can gather some data over time like guys did on the 350s to isolate the issues and...
Really upsetting to hear about such a catastrophic failure this early on…
Would love to see some stats around this, maybe we can start a poll, to see what % of members here have had the issue, at what mileage, and what build date…
If this engine needs to come out in the first year, I’d be...
I swapped to Gorilla spline on my 350R as I wanted black and more theft protection for the carbon wheels. Very happy with the quality and would like to use them on the RR so an answer on the above would be helpful - looks to me like similar surface area that contacts the wheel so I assume that...
Happy to hear, looking like X4ts is a winner…bummed I missed the old price but will contact them directly or wait for a holiday sale as I’m in no crazy rush. Thank you all!
I can say for a fact the ride quality / handling is miles ahead of my 2017 TRD pro, which felt a bit smaller and more nimble / lighter, but much less settled, bouncy and more body roll. The raptor stays planted, feels much more civilized when you want it to be, and pretty low body roll for a...
