If installing airbags, they work better when installed in conjuction with a 1in strut spacer lift. This gives more roome between chasssis and axle at full compression, negating the issue with the rough bottomging out.
Strut spacers do not change a single aspect of how the shock works. It still hits the bumpstop at the same point as factory. They dont add any extra stress to any part.
Of course they can be combined with portals.
Hi Chad
That article is aimed at standard Rangers, where they come with 30.2" tyres factory. So the jump from that to 35s is a significant change in final drive. We also only offer gearsets currently to suit the Rangers and not the Ranger Raptors.
The Ranger Raptor, being that they are a 33"...
umm well depends if your prefer 2in of poke or 2.5in of poke. My opinion is neither of them is even remotely the correct offset for ranger raptors on 35s.
Our recommendation is no lower than P30 for a functional fitment
Its available in our Tech Talk section on the site. https://goatoffroad.com.au/blogs/tech-talk/next-gen-ranger-raptor-ride-height-calibration
Its also linked via QR code in the install guide for the strut spacers
Yeah this is the reason I dont really put much stock on trying to emulate the race car. There is so many areas of the suspension they can tweak and still call it "factory" that its not really relevant to the daily user.
So no one knows exactly what shocks they were running, but we know they definitely werent factory. This is proven by the threaded bodies. That class has no restrictions on shocks, as long they can be bolted in with out modifying the chassis.
All they would have need to be is 1-2in longer in...
Yes that wheel setup will fix the problem this thread is about.
BUT 1" spacer in the front is not enough to provide safe clearance to the guards at full compression. You need a spacer thickness that is greater than the tyre radius increase. I have written an extensive article that explains...
Takes an impressive amount of ignorance to make such a completely wrong assertion. Heres some free information that completely dispells that www.goatoffroad.com.au/rangerraptorlifts
