This question comes up all the time, and the answers are often misleading. Usually it’s just a photo at ride height with someone saying “fits no problem.” We’ve just had a Next Gen Raptor in the workshop running 315/70R17 BFGoodrich Mud Terrains on the factory wheels, and here’s what we actually...
Yep bang on.
BUT, have you read our article about lifting the Raptor? goatoffroad.com.au/rangerraptorlifts ?
Because the issue with spring lifts is they dont factor in clearance for large tires at full compression.
16mm of 6061 aluminum is fragile?
These spacers have literally been tested on the proving grounds that Ford tested the ranger raptor on 🤣
But best not use the Fox shocks then, being that the body is only 3mm aluminum bodies.
I have definitely seen the Raptors blowing them out and I would put it down the the additional weight on the F150 vs the Ranger Raptor plus most failures are on 37s.
Your literally talking about a strut spacer with extra steps.
We have had the Ranger Raptor with 2.5 Fox Live Valves in Australia since 2022 and I have been making parts for them since then and not a single case of damaged or even worn out upper shock bushes. So this upgrade is completely...
Lift has no relationship to fitting big tyres. Sure, you may have clearance at ride height, but your suspension still compresses, moving the tyre up into the wheel arch which gets smaller and smaller.
Anything bigger than a 35 does not fit the Ranger Raptor. When I say "fit" i mean proper fit...
2in spacer is the limit for safe CV angles. You can do more lift by combining a spacer and springs. But you need to factor in your tyre size. If going 34" you can do a 1in spacer and 2in spring lift, but it is compromising the internal bypass system with the spring lift.
Honestly, we have...
Haha flush must have a very different meaning in the US
We have a Ranger Raptor in the workshop on 17x9 +35 with a 315/70r17 and it failed inspection because the side wall is 8mm outside flares, when viewed from above.
All I can advise RE strut spacers is based on the G.O.A.T Offroad ones I design and make, being they are 32mm thick to achieve 2in lift. Theres lots of generic spacers on the market, so I cant comment on their specific thickness.
Yes, your wheel spacers are giving you an effective wheel offset...
Its pretty simple. You need a strut spacer thickness that is equal to or greater than the tire radius increase. The other factor to consider is that the wider the offset wheel the more clearance you need. The ideal offset being+35 or +40 to keep the contact patch as far inside as possible.
Thanks, appreciate that. Its a pretty controversial issue so figured it was time to lay it all out. There will always be people who disagree but cant win em all.
yeah its random, some cars get to 0, some dont. We just chalk it up to variance in mass produced vehicles. Not sure if it would be...
We are based in Australia. Our spring options are completely different to what is available in the USA. Unfortunately for you guys, in this rare instance, the options are less than in Aus, which is very different to most circumstances regarding accessories and mods.
But regardless, we believe...
Thanks. What a strange tire. Does not look like a MT. Has 3 different sidewall/tread patterns available too. Shame they dont make it in a 37 like im chasing.
Hi all,
Ned here from G.O.A.T Offroad in Australia. We have had the Ranger Raptor since 2022 and we were pretty early on supporting them.
When we wanted to tackle the problem of lifting them without negatively affecting the fox shocks, we came in with no preconceptions and just wanted to...
no one at any point disagreed that replacing the factory fox shocks with a Fox upgrade package wouldnt be the best option. But, they arent available, so its a moot point and then you have to
Pick the next big thing.
Also, i can almost gaurantee that the upgraded shock package will have a longer...
