2024 Ranger No Scheduling This Week (2/15/24)

Well crud. My ranger lariat had been scheduled for the week of 2/12/24. Ford changed it today to 4/8/24.

What options were on your Ranger build?

It was a pretty simple/plain truck. Not sure why they would have pushed it back 2 months on the schedule. I'm seriously looking at 2023 F-150's now on dealers' lots. I should be able to get a deal on one at this point and actually get to drive it in a few weeks.....I'm really dissappointed right now with the entire 2024 Ranger situation.

Total speculation here, but no March clean up scheduling, they only scheduled about 2000 retail orders for March when they said they would schedule 3500 (non raptor), people's March dates getting pushed out. I'm fairly certain of the two weeks they were March scheduling (Jan 15 and Jan 22), they only actually scheduled orders during the first week. Seems like maybe they are pumping the brakes to address a production issue.

I’m scheduled for the week of 3/11 also & as of right now it’s still showing 3/11 so I’m hopeful it doesn’t get pushed but it wouldn’t surprise me if it does.

Same thing just happened to my RR. Was scheduled for week of 2/19/2024 and is now 4/8/2024. Crap... lol.

My RR was also changed from 2/19/24 to 4/8/24 wonder what happened

There is a rumor that some suppliers for Ranger and F150 have folded after the UAW strike. I don't know if it's true but that could be the reason for some of these big slips in productions dates. JIT manufacturing can be kind of fragile with big interruptions like the strike. We see the immediate effects at the plant but the ripples through the supply chain are probably ongoing.

The only option I picked is the keypad on the door and my date is holding. I wonder if some of the delays are for beadlock wheels, stickers, or splash guards.

I finally gave up today on my Ranger Lariat order. When Ford moved my production scheduled date from 2/19 to 4/8 this week I started looking at new 2023 F-150’s XLT’s on local dealers’ lots. I found one I liked today and made a deal. I pick up the new truck on Thursday. I’m actually getting a truck that rides better, is more capable, gets the same fuel mileage, and paying probably $5-10K less than the Ranger. The only thing I’m missing is Leather seats and universal garage remote control. I think I’m going to be happy with this new truck.
