2025 Ford Ranger Lariat – Lane Assist Canceling

After completing oil service, tire rotation, and troubleshooting an uncommanded 4WD issue (with the required part on order) at Dealership on April 1, 2026, I engaged cruise control during my drive home. The driver assist screen intermittently illuminated and displayed a “canceled” message. This occurs repeatedly with cruise control and driver assist activated.

5 May 2026 – Ranger at the dealership for Lane Assist cancelling, replaced IPMA camera, issue not resolved.

12 May 2026 – Ranger at the dealership for Lane Assist cancelling, reprogramed, however got a few miles down the road and it happened again, back to dealership, harness on order. Issue not resolved.

10 June 2026 – Dropped off Ranger at the dealership for Lane Assist cancelling.

17 June 2026 – Pickup from dealership, Lane Assist, repaired/replaced wiring, and it happened again, happened 5 more times on the way home.

23 June 2026 – Dropped off Ranger at the dealership for Lane Assist cancelling.

29 June 2026 - Pickup from dealership, Lane Assist, repaired/replaced wiring, did not even make a few miles down the road with CC set at 45MPH and it happened again, took it back to the dealership. It happened 3 more times on the way home. (Had to take it home as we were leaving on vacation)

21 July 2026 - Dealership appointment, if it is not fixed this time, I am considering Virginia's Lemon Law approach.

The problem is really aggravating as you cannot use the cruise control without this cancel message appearing numerous times and randomly. Anyone else have this problem?

Do you have FORScan or any kind of code scanner to see what codes it is reporting?

Dealership said U3000 in the IPMA, performed hardware test - passed, Perfromed PMI on the IPMA and recalabrited the cameras and retested, no DTCs , all systems passed.

Corrupted memory in the IPMA.

Retruned after test drive, replaced IPMA camera and performed camera alignment, test drove to verify repairs.

I see the cancelled message occasionally pop up, but it always seems to be when the highway lines do something different. For example, being in the right lane and going passed a highway exit, the truck loses the white lines on the passenger side so it cancels the lane aids until it can find the lines again and re-calibrate.

Mine does it randomly on the interstate also with straight highway lines. It happens so frequently that I can't even use the CC. Never happend when I bought the Ranger April of 2025 and started happening April 2026, almost a year later...

Is it lane centering or lane assist. And if you have something else displayed in the center window, like trip information, do you still see the message?

Got your message; responding here for the sake of the info being out there. Your truck is reporting this code in the PSCM intermittently. This code will 100% cause issues with driver assist features. Every time the code surfaces, the sub type is 00 which makes this impossible to diagnose remotely. Dealer would need to run pin-point tests to see what's causing it. Codes are stored for 60 days at a time in Ford's cloud and in the past 60 days, there have been no IPMA codes reported.

Thx for helping OP! What system or DB are you accessing? Can all dealers or independent mechs see it? Would be fantastic to remotely diagnose issues before even take to dealer. Wouldn't/Couldn't that cloud download be first step when doing their "50 point inspection"?

Are you wearing your seatbelt? I discovered lane centering only works if you are wearing your seatbelt!

That info is visible in Ford's PTS/OASIS website. All Ford dealer service employees have access to it.

the reason I ask is lane is always enabled even when not in cruise control.

you can set the amount of assistance but you can’t turn it off.
