Short version of the Ford story:

Ordered 2024 Maverick Lariat - After 6 months, dealer informs us that the truck was built but it is lost somewhere in the system. Truck was shipped to West Coast storage yard for final delivery to dealer and was lost.

Ordered 2025 Ranger Lariat - Truck was delivered to dealer this time and we completed the transaction ($50K+). Dealer attempted to move it from the showroom floor after we provided a cashiers check and signed the purchase contract. The battery was dead and it wouldn't start. Spent the next 2 days at the dealer waiting to drive it off the lot, no joy. For the next 6+ weeks multiple electrical problems, multiple components replaced after days of waiting on parts and It's still at the dealer in the shop.

Contacted Ford Customer Service and have been assured on multiple occasions that they are on it and it will be resolved. Updates have not been timely and usually require us to call and visit the dealer only to hear, "Our service department is working with Ford to diagnose and correct the problem". Last status update during the week of 7/7/25 was, "Phantom power draw is draining the battery and we're working on finding it".

Stay tuned for more detail.

I'm sorry you're having such a poor experience when it should be a happy one.

Dang. Sorry to hear you've had a string of bad luck.
Can you push for a loaner car, buyback, or dealer trade for exact model from another dealership? Then your dealer can work it out w/ ford at their leisure and you are out of the picture. Sure hope that can substitute another car or compensate you. Sad to hear the dealer isn't working hard for you.

I had a smaller problem. Truck showed up w/ damage from rat that chewed the firewall insulation. They had to remove the engine in order to remove + install firewall lining. Tons of work for them. Took 2-3 days of labor and double checking for damage. Ford covered the bill and dealer was made whole and it all worked out. But we didn't know how long it would take or how messy it would get, so I switched to another truck w/ similar specs. The dealer really went to bat and gave me some options.

Never do paperwork until you take a car for a nice test drive and full inspection, inside, outside, under the hood. I despise dealers, but when I went to go pick mine up he photocopied my DL, tossed me the key, and said "Have fun." No one even came with me. I drove it around for awhile, tested things out, came back...THEN did the paperwork.

What is your states lemon law? Ford bought our 2024 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 back after being at service dept. for over 30 days. They treated me very fairly and I purchased a new 2024 Ford Ranger Lariat FX4 . No problems at all with the new one.

Sounds like a lemon you shouldn't be responsible for... and how much wreckage is going on behind the scenes (panels, wire looms, etc.), with them tearing everything apart, replacing this and that. That's what I'd be afraid of, broken clips, everything not restored to its factory condition, issues cropping up in the future due to all the BS... Just sayin.

Did they replace the battery? Mine was delivered with one bad cell in the battery causing it to run down in my garage after sitting a few days. A new battery and no more issues. Ford has had a string of bad batteries at the factories.
