Hello All,

This is my first truck ever, and I’m absolutely over the moon with it. I feel like I can go at any speed on any terrain—so far, I’m very happy with the product.

I took delivery about two weeks ago, and a couple of days ago, with only 483 miles on it, I went to start it and got a series of error codes. Naturally, I panicked. Luckily, I have an Autel MX900, which let me read and clear the codes. I saved them before clearing, and since then the truck has been running normally. I’m still breaking it in, so I try not to push it too hard.

Here’s my concern: the Autel read the VIN and reported it as a 2022 build, which confused me because the VIN plate on the passenger side shows a manufacture date of 03/25. Why would the Autel show it as three years old? And could that be related to the error codes I saw?

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Based on my experience with my new autel scanner (mk900bt) I wouldn't trust anything that it reports. And I'm sure it has nothing to do with the error codes you saw.

If I were you I'd look for a simple OBDLink MX+ or its wired equivalent that are known to work well with Forscan; you'll endure less headaches, less painfully-slow updates, less false info, etc, plus it'll work with Forscan in case you ever want to use that.

I'd expect that the scanner is in error. Has the software for your scanner been updated to be compatible with 2025 vehicles?
