I would say go for the 25’.
Factor in price increase and lack there of rebates on 26s. Cost difference is likely around $3k just based on MSRP not factoring in dealer discounts to move old stock, which may not happen least not as aggressively for while.
Just remember that the '25 is a year old truck the moment you drive off the lot. While you're saving money buying it, you also have lower blue book value.

How much that actually matters to someone depends on how long they're keeping the truck.

I got my 2025 for $7,500 off in mid-December. I’m good with a slightly reduced BlueBook value seven years from now.

Buying a 2025 also meant my XL/STX came with aluminum wheels. That freebie has been removed for 2026, so you’re getting steelies.

One reason I jumped on my '25 Lariat, the '26 is removing the projector headlights, and some other stuff.

That starts to play more of a factor around 5 or 6 year in, as the truck comes up on the break points as far as bank lending terms go. Ie. Some banks have vehicle age that plays into the terms.

Recently as this past week.
I have been helping an employee look for a used Ranger , that age thing does not seem to be making much of a difference on the Rangers i have found. Condition, spec, and milage seems to be keeping values very close.
5th gen 21 Vs 22 vs 23 all very similar miles and condition are pricing very close to the same.

I am actually finding it very Intersting just how strong the residual values are on the Ranger.

It probably comes down to what the OP‘s purchase time frame actually is.
The 26 model does not exist yet. Not on lots yet, I think production of the 36 is just now getting fired up, so guessing 30 to 60 days before there landing on lots, maybe 90 days before the selection starts getting good. Probably a bit longer for 25s to sell through with the good rebates, which puts it likely 6 months or more before similar rebate levels to start hitting the 26 models.

What

what is Ford thinking???all other brands have been selling 26’s for months. I was waiting to order a red Raptor or Red Ranger Tremor in the US…but now planning to get GMC Canyon AT4x in red…with ventilated seats, rear air and sunroof. My last 6 vehicles were Ford and I hate to leave…any chance Ford will surprise me when they finally get the 26 models on the website?
Production starts this month on 26 Rangers .

Sorry to say, if Red is the only color you’re wanting, it won’t be a 26 model.
‘Red Raptors were only built or offered in the 2024 model year here in the US market.

It’s weird that they don’t offer a red on the Raptor. Ruby Red is available on almost everything else and would look terrific.

How big of a difference is there in lighting between the LED projectors and reflectors? The test drives I did were during the day so I couldn't evaluate.

There’s a noticeable difference. I have the reflectors and the projectors are definitely superior. However, the reflectors are still pretty good and much better than any halogen setup.

I am satisfied with the projector headlights and I'm hard to please when it comes to automotive lighting.

The irony is many people add lightbars and aux lights to trucks so it might not be a huge upgrade for everyone.

not necessarily true as the saving in a 25 over a 26 usually compensates for the difference in value

Its wild that Ford is removing the projectors for the Lariat. Super disappointing and if I was in the market for a Lariat I'd be super pissed.

Ya, I would prefer the projectors but the saggy leather in the seats with the 25's is a bit of a concern.

I have the leather and it's beautiful and nice quality but my front seat bottoms are definitely not right. I'll let you know what Ford does about it.
