I'm betting we'll se official announcements on both the 2027 Ranger and Bronco (trims, powertrains, prices etc) soon. It's already almost mid-October and I'm wanting to say that we usually have the order guide by now. But keep in mind, the build and price for the 2027 F-150 isn't even available yet and that is extremely late for Ford.

I know the order banks open Nov 2 for the Maverick so the Ranger shouldn't be too far behind.

It wasn't until January that the Build and Price became available for the 2026 Ranger. Could be similar for the 2027.

Noobie here...
I'm enjoying the chat on aspects of the Ranger. My 2020 Lariat Ranger is doing well, low miles, good maintenance all around. Still looking into an newer version anyway. 2026 Lariats are hard to find (with my specific "needs") due to a dash screen defect/counterfeit thing going on. My salesdude is looking into my ordering a 2027.
Even that's 8 weeks out... ; ( Why aren't they already on the lots? Is the 2.7L a bad choice?

Also, do 2026 Ranger Lariats have less stuff (decontented like somebody said)?

I'm confused...

1. No matrix LED headlights. Significant downgrade.
2. Pleather seats.

There's probably more.

Yeah... Active X seats? WTF is that anyway? Also, didn't realize headlights were a downgrade.

I was an body engineer at Chrysler and watched that sneaky stuff happen. I loved the Dakotas that I had over the years. Then the stuff started to disappear that I was used to. Things people don't really notice at first glance. One was the lighted visor mirrors with a flip cover. You don't notice it until using the visor and staring at the back seat. Annoying "feature" on a premium trim level.
Then... Dakotas cease production. The last year was very limited choices in features and colors as they ran out the stock (but still called it Laramie-the Lariat equivalent).

ActiveX is a non leather seat material. I don't see this as a deal killer. Getting rid of the projector headlights is a major downgrade for the Lariat trim level, IMO. My 2024 Lariat came with them and they are very nice to have and are a big improvement over reflection style headlights.

I'm in the middle of a decision to "upgrade" from 2020 Ranger Lariat to 2026 (or '27 if it needs to go that way). But some of the delays, limited availability, and now this site discussing the end-of-life for certain things like the V6 engine I was considering. Makes me want to stop and see where things are until 2027 springtime.
I just want a truck I can count on NOT being slowly shelved, ignored, warranty downplayed, etc.

Then I hear stories of my beloved Dakota coming back. Sounds bad though: a "new" truck jammed onto a Gladiator frame. IOW it isn't really a new truck. Reminds of the really stupid H2 body on the Chevy PU frame.
I want a truck without compromises in body and frame. That's what you get when repurposing a frame and making it work. Doesn't mean it won't work but I'd rather have them designed together in the first place.

Even with the discontented stuff, the 6G in itself is an upgrade from the 5G in many ways.
Better ride, improved interior, more tech. That last one is a killer for some.
Best of all, available 2.7, but in 4x4 only.
Even the 2.3L in the 2026 is an improvement over the 2.3L in the 2020.

I think the Ranger is currently the overall the best mid size truck available in the US. It has a solid design and benefits greatly from Ford's vast experience with engineering full size trucks. It also benefits from the non US market Rangers adding to its design and function. My money is on the 2.7L V6 remaining for the 2027 model year and 2028, or 2029, is when the 3.0L will replace it.

I don't see the Ranger going away anytime soon. It sold over 70k units in 2025 and currently 2026 sales are on track to be around 7% higher than 2025's numbers. With the addition of a very stout, powerful and reliable V6 turbocharged engine, Ford has carved out a market niche that no other mid sized truck maker has at this point. I watch a lot of comparison reviews of Rangers to other mid size trucks and there is a growing trend that it is the best mid sized truck being sold. IMO, much of this is due to the 2.7L engine being an option among other things like the options available in the XLT trim.

The 2026 Ranger Lariat vs the 2025 means paying more for less. The 2025 Performance LED headlamps look great but were replaced by more expensive (about $400 more per assembly) reflective headlamps. A downgrade to me. The 2025 Lariat leather seats were replaced by Active-X, a genuine eco-friendly vinyl made from recycled plastic bottles. Another downgrade to me especially with no decrease in pricing. I looked at both models last October. Liked the 2025 better and especially the end of year rebates. Bought a 2025. No brainer.

I just found 37 unsold brand new 2025 Ford Ranger Lariat trucks on Autotrader with one in Manhattan, Kansas, at $47K. Big savings even with shipping to Detroit-ish!

Bronco info is out, if you haven't already heard. 3.0 replacing 2.7 seems to be the big story, along with new colors and seating:

I had such high hopes the "refresh" of the front grill was going to happen. I despise the current Ranger grill as it looks very feminine to me. But since I am leaning towards a Raptor anyway over the Tremor which was my original plan, I guess it won't matter. The wait to see what Ford does is killing me....
