Even with the discontented stuff, the 6G in itself is an upgrade from the 5G in many ways.
Better ride, improved interior, more tech. That last one is a killer for some.
Best of all, available 2.7, but in 4x4 only.
Even the 2.3L in the 2026 is an improvement over the 2.3L in the 2020.
Agree 100%. I upgraded from a 2020 XLT to a 2026 XLT. Lots of nice improvements.

It makes sense to make the 3.0 more widely available in the Bronco. It really gives it a bigger advantage over Jeep offerings. With this announcement, it does sound like the end of the venerable 2.7L engine.
Yes, Ford is consolidating and simplifying to reduce costs. It makes sense. I will be very surprised if we don't see the same thing happen in the 2027 Ranger.

One thing that is a pet peeve for me is that damned rear window. I want a solid window!
I have to buy a lower trim to get that? I tolerate the stupid useless thing. I rarely see one open so why is it forced on everyone?
There's a "cost savings" right there. Get rid of the slider . . . somehow. I've had it for 6 years and don't even know if it opens. ; )

Use mine almost daily. Didn't really care one way or the other when considering purchase.
Now a moonroof/sunroof - keep that roof solid and lighter weight for me.

I am old enough to remember when the rear sliding window was mostly a passthrough from a bed camper to the cabin while going down the road. These were also the days when a truck could be flying down the highway with a half dozen kids in the bed with a state trouper following. These days I see very little reason to have them. I have heard they allow cabin ventilation, better trailer awareness, allows longer items to be hauled, can stick a hard wired antenna to the roof, etc. I don't see where any of these reasons have a remote chance of justifying a sliding rear window. Personally, I think its best use is to be able to pass a beer to the driver from a camper by a person who hasn't realized what will happen to them in the event a collision occurs.

I see any kind of glass in a roof as a liability. They can leak, fail and are something I don't want over my head in a crash. The all glass roofs are another level of potential misery.

I love that power slider.
I use it every time it's nice outside and I am driving with the window down.
I put the driver window down, and you get all the buffering wind, but hit the button and open the rear slider that wind buffering all but stops and the equalization creates a nice, controlled breeze throughout the cabin.

Also I have found it especially handy when an emergency ventilation event is transpired. LOL

Same. That was one of several reasons I went with an XLT.

I knew there would be people that say the opposite. No doubt some people will use and enjoy stuff in a different way from me. But... I still RARELY see them open on ANY truck. Doesn't mean I don't see them used; just not much.
Seems like solid glass should be available across all trim levels. That's all I'm saying.

I would take adjustable front headrests over the rear window. Has anyone found adjustable headrests that fit in Rangers?

I saw somewhere that the Maverick ones don't stick so far forward...and fit in the 6g ranger seat. I don't know if they are adjustable though. (I'm assuming you mean tilting back and forth)

I would like them to be tilted back more or be adjustable. The ones in my wife's Edge adjust so maybe I'll try one of them to see if they work. The Ranger ones aren't terrible but on longer drives I would like for them to tilt further back.
