Care to share?
(and no, I'm not a Slate fanboy, just wondering what Ford is doing that would compete with this pipe dream...)

Their new EV truck will be a fairly direct competitor. Crew cab too. Supposedly starting at 30k.

I think it's pretty clear... if the Ford EV truck actually starts at $30k, and the Slate starts at $25k, Slate is 'cooked' as the kids say. You get all the modern amenities people expect in a vehicle in the Ford for just $5k more. The bare-bones Blank Slate has...nothing, and roughly the same range.

IMO people (and more importantly, fleet buyers) will choose a base Maverick hybrid over either of these other trucks though.

I agree.
Lots of ifs and assumptions about all of it though. Who knows what Ford might do? What are the odds that Slate even gets off the ground? Can they sell enough to make it work? and there are countless examples of promised low pricing vanishing when hype and hope meets reality... (or the promised product never materializing and no refunds....)

That said, I do hope Slate pulls it off! Perhaps they can upset the status quo. A little...

This could have a similar trajectory to that of the space rocket venture.
We'll see what Ford counters it with. My money's on Ford.
