255/75/17 mud terrain tire fitment on stock setup

Wanting some input on larger tire fitment.
2026 XLT FX4 stock 17” wheels with 255/70/17 Goodyear Territory AT tires as factory setup.
I want to keep it stock for suspension and wheels.
I know several people have had no issues with 255/75/17 all terrain tires, but I want know if a 255/75/17 BFG KM3 or a Yokohama Geolandr MT will fit with out rubbing issues. Thanks in advance.

I would think they would work. They would only be about an inch larger diameter than the stock tires and are a touch slimmer.

I'm thinking about that size myself.

I had those noGoodyears on my 26 XLT...I HATE noGoodyears.
I went to a tire place with 41 miles on the truck, they gave me $70/per tire, and I put 265/70/17 BFG KO3s on there. Work great!!!
I trial fitted the 315/70/17 BFG KM3s I have on my Bronco...no joy.

265/70R17 seems to be the sweet spot on these trucks. Without doing a lift or leveling kit anyway.

I have to agree. Ran 255/75 then 265/70R17 on my JKU Wrangler Sport. I didn't notice much difference. Both were fine. An advantage is they only run a half inch or so bigger diameter than the stock tire so I would think a person would not have to mess with programing for the tire size.

I shoulda kept that JKU, especially after I had the 5.3L LS conversion done on it.

For the Ranger, I want to stay with stock size wheels, 17 x 7.5/no spacers. I will be running Eibach leveling struts set to somewhere between 1.5" - 2" for a little more skid plate clearance. I'm going to have the local Ford dealer install them as now I'm in my 70s and to old and lazy to do it myself.

Tires I'm considering are:
255/75R17 - 32.1"
265/70R17 - 31.6"
275/70R17 - 32.2"

I'm fairly certain the first two would run on stock wheels no problem. Not sure about the 275/70.

Honestly I'll probably end up with the 265/70. That size seems to have the best selection of manufacturers, load range, tread patterns, etc. and no potential issues.
