See What’s Behind You: Reverse Light Upgrade for the Ranger Raptor

Looks to me like they are tucked up tight enough against the hitch that won’t be a problem. And if it is, you’re probably loosing the trailer wiring harness too.

Exactly why I moved the trailer harness. Sure they are tucked up which will help but objects can snag the wiring and the housings. Say you have to go through a water crossing, you have no idea what’s gonna be in there.

Depends on where you live and what you're doing with the truck. I don't have to worry about water crossings.

Quick update for anyone following this setup — we’ve got an install video up showing the process for the Ranger Raptor reverse light kit.

If you’ve been considering the upgrade and wanted to see what’s involved before ordering, this should give you a much better look at how everything goes together.

This kit is excellent and straightforward to install. Rather than choosing white lights, I selected amber for both the main and back light. I wired the main lights to a rear upfitter switch for chase lights, while the back light serves as running lights.

Personally I think these lights will be toast (at least the way I drive ) if you take the vehicle off-road to any extent. I moved my trailer wiring harness up next to the license plate but left the bracket to see what would happen. Here’s a recent picture, and I’m not out doing the Rubicon Trail, but do hit 3-4 rated OnX trails.

Love the idea, but like others have said... this location isn't ideal. They will get ripped off with any actual off-roading.. ask me how i know lol
