Has anyone successfully fitted a bed cap from the previous generation Ranger to a new one?

I've been sort of wanting a bed cap for my Ranger Raptor. There is a bed cap that has popped up locally on marketplace but it is for a 5th Gen truck. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if it will work.

I'm running a 5G hard folding tonneau cover currently, so I know the bed sizes are very close, but the new Rangers have the dumb plastic bed caps that the previous gen did not.

Any input is appreciated.

The Raptor bed is wider and the bottom of the cap needs to be trimmed off enough that the black bed rail cover shows. That was for a new Leer cap for my 25 Raptor so I would think you will need to do this at least if you are lucky enough that it will fit.

Interior or exterior dimension of the RR bed is wider? My understanding is the interior dimensions for all trim levels of the 6g Ranger are the same.

I should have said the fender is wider at the top where the cap would overhang.

I have a 2019 With a GFC topper that I am planning to mount on the back of my 2025 once I take delivery at the end of the month. I have made a lot of measurements at the dealer comparing bed and the 6G bed.

The point where my topper secures (the inner lip of the bed rail) is about 10mm narrower on the 6G. Luckily my topper has some modularity to account for the dimensions.
There bed rail length is 20mm longer on the 5G, which means any topper from a 5g will potentially sit over the tailgate just that much more. I’m not certain this will look great, TBD, but hopefully it saves me buying another camper.

I'm definitely interested to see how this works out for you. Please keep me updated if possible.
