Hey all! I just took delivery of my 24 Lariat today!

Every once in awhile I get a on-dash screen pop-up that the adaptive cruise control sensor is blocked, and pre collision is disabled.

Anyone else run into this? My gut seems to think the front plate covers too much of the sensor, but it is the provided plate bracket for the vehicle.

I have had something similar. I do not have the adaptive cruise but have gotten the pre-collision sensor warnings and disable light a few times. Seems to go away within a minute or less.

Only correlation I have noticed is on humid days or mornings and there is slight condensation buildup on the outside.

I haven’t been able to drive it much yet, went straight in for a bed liner. But it happened on the way there, and on the way back.

it works for about 5ish minutes and then I get the error.

Might need a dealer visit then to get it looked at. May need to be re-calibrated as the bottom grille sensor works in conjunction with the windshield camera sensor.

I know on other vehicles I have work on with the same systems, there is self calibration loop the system will go into based off the initial calibration and will give an allowable error rate for obstructions for a certain time before erroring out and posting a fail.

I never got that message with my license plate in the stock location. But I hated how high the license plate is mounted so I came up with a license plate bracket flip mod to lower the license plate. It looked great but blocked the collision sensor so it was disabled as well as acc.
If your license plate is in the stock location it shouldn't be blocking the sensor.

I think you might have it in the wrong place. Mine is right over the transition from bumper to grill….

this is clearly a raptor specific answer.

I took my ranger in for service today and it was recalibrated under warranty. All fixed up now!

On my 5G the Pre-collision would be unavailable if there was frost on the windshield. There was a defroster wire there to defrost the area in from of the camera. I'm assuming the 6G has this too, but it's not been cold since I picked it up in April and I haven't thought to look. I'll look tomorrow.

love it so far! Now just have to wait for my tailgate to get replaced.
Bed liner tech dented it in two places on day 1…

Ok, I’m fairly certain that this plate bracket is upside down.

my dealer accidentally put it on upside down and offered to flip it, but they’re 1.5hrs away.

tried taking it to my local dealer like 2 minutes away and the refuse to believe me when I say it’s upside down.

They say if I have them flip the plate it is not covered by warranty… and will charge me a 155 diagnostic fee.

But this plate is covering half of the Adaptive Cruise Control radar sensor.

I’m going to try to speak with the service department manager today.

Before you ask for it to be flipped, can you just remove it and see if the problem goes away? Risk a ticket to diagnose it?
