I am going to look at an used 24 Ranger raptor tomorrow. I would like to know what items I should look for to determine if I should buy the vehicle or not.
It has about 9500 miles on it and I noticed there has been two owners during this time frame. It concerns me neither owner kept the vehicle for longer than 4 months. Are there a lot of issues with this Ranger Raptor. Thanks for your help in advance.

I have 9000 miles had it since July 2024 and it’s been a great experience. I rally mine in the sand dunes of the Oregon coast and it never fails

I have had my RR for 11 months and 4000 miles with no issues at all! I love driving it and it is the smoothest riding 4WD I have ever owned.

That is what I would call a red flag. I would definitely have it looked over by a certified 4x4 off road mechanic. I would also ask the current owner why he wants to sell it, after that answer I would ask him if he knows why the original owner sold it. Check the CarFax or other reputable car history by VIN to check for any wrecks or other issues. Good luck!

If it was made before September it will have a simple recall for reprogramming the front window controllers and a campaign for bed stiffeners.
I just took mine in for the reprogramming and the dealer alerted me to the bed stiffener campaign.
Both are covered - but it is a pain. I’ve got to go back for the stiffeners because they didn’t have parts.

To my knowledge there have not been a ton of issues that are significant enough for folks to not want the vehicle any longer. They've been out for a bit in the rest of the world so lots of the initial gremlins were probably sorted through across the pond before we got them here in the States.

Whether buying from a dealer or privately, I would most certainly want to see the warranty repair history. Throwing out scenarios here: Could be owner #1 had some issue that he/she decided was significant enough to warrant getting out of the vehicle as soon as it was "fixed." Maybe it wasn't exactly repaired and owner #2 had the same issue?
Purely conjecture above, as well as here: could also be that owner #1 bought it sight unseen, based on media hysteria and it wasn't big enough/didn't sound like his/her Gen 1's V8, or any of a number of more owner problem than vehicle problem. Owner #2 gets great deal on used Ranger Raptor and decides it isn't right to replace his/her Corvette as the daily driver and trades in.
But seriously, see the warranty and maintenance history and have it gone over at a dealer. Better yet, buy from a dealer so there's no way they can not honor the remaining warranty on it.
Not sure if any of that is helpful, but it's what came to mind with your question.

I wouldn't buy it without seeing the OASIS report from Ford.

This, while not likely, but possible..... The inability to flat tow the 2024s. I love my RR, has slightly less than 3000 miles, has the Ford Performance tune. I LOVE the thing.... but, didn't realize when I traded my JL Rubicon that it couldn't be flat towed. Considering selling and getting a '25 so that I can. Perhaps a similar situation. Or not. LOL
