Approaching 200 miles, so I thought I'd share my thoughts:

The Good:
  • I like the size of the Ranger Raptor. It feels less cumbersome to navigate around town compared to my prior F150's.
  • The ride and comfort is excellent. I've found Normal Drive Mode, shocks in Normal, Steering in Comfort, and Exhaust in Normal seems to be my around town favorite.
  • It's quiet inside. Honestly, it's not far off of my 2021 F150 Platinum. I cannot hear much if any wind noise or rattles. There is a slight amount of road noise from the KO3's, but it's minimal.
  • The powertrain is pretty smooth. My F150 was a hybrid, so it was always a little clunky. After several rounds of FDRS updates, it improved a lot, but I'd say the Ranger is more refined overall.
  • Lots of compliments on the looks of the truck. No haters thus far.
  • Super comfortable driving position. I found it one of the easier vehicles to get into and get comfortable.
  • A/C seems to work quite well. I made sure to test this before leaving the dealership because I had read some horror stories.
  • Fits in my garage and by less than 5 inches. That means I can keep it out of the California sun.
The Not So Good / Nitpicking:
  • The limited interior storage is something that is noticeable in this truck. That's one area where the F150 has it beat by a mile. I had to condense my straps and accessories to fit in the small rear under-seat storage areas.
  • I have not had any issues with the shifter, but one of my good friends has a 2019 Ranger Lariat at work and he wanted to check out the RR today. I asked him if he wanted to take it for a spin, and off we went. However, watching him trying to deal with that shifter was hilarious.
  • The 1-2 shift is a bit wonky. I wish it was a firmer and more positive shift. It seems like a combination of the gearing and torque management makes it less exciting than it could be.
  • The side steps. OMG, between parking in my garage next to another car, and being just over 6' tall, it's not easy to get into this truck. I was spoiled by the powered steps on the F150 because they were about perfect. It's like this truck is right in between needing steps and not needing steps. I'd remove them, but I don't feel like having rock chips everywhere.
  • Powertrain/drivetrain noises at low speeds. I don't know why this particular truck/powertrain makes so much mechanical whirling noises, but it reminds me of driving domestic cars of the 70's and 80's. I've had many other recent Ford vehicles, but this one has the most low speed drivetrain noise of any of them. Mind you I'm OCD about noises in vehicles, so I'm probably nitpicking something most people don't even notice. It's a curse.
  • The meh leather quality on the seats. Mine are better than a lot I've seen, but I'm not overly impressed. On top of that, I already miss the ventilated seats.
  • I much prefer a landscape screen than the portrait screen. The 360 camera view is tiny. I also wish it had a physical camera button, versus having to use the screen. I got used to having that on the F150 when parking.
  • The KO3's are not exactly confidence inspiring from a grip standpoint, but they're still breaking in. I've had KO2's on other trucks, so I kind of knew what to expect, and I think it's a bit worse in the Ranger due to the softer suspension.
  • I miss the 1-10 gear indicator that the F150 had in a normal drive mode.
Overall, I love the truck which echos what a lot of others have said. I was telling the guys at work that I'm getting old because I hadn't even popped the hood until today, and I think the most throttle I gave it was 1/2 since picking it up. My friend drives it and just matted it, and I'm like... damn, I didn't even go WFO in this thing before he did. Old timer @ 47. :)

You will soon move into the Sport or Raptor only mode of driving! Comes with complimentary gear indicator.

Press the + on your shifter that's how I get it to show on my Lariat but Raptor's might be different.
