How good is this class for a complete novice? The only time I've ever used an alternative driving mode was when I put my Honda Civic in Sport Mode. The RR is going to be my first truck and I really want to use it to its full potential and get outdoors.

Speaking of, anyone have any good recommendations on parks to visit on a drive down from WA? Could probably swing through Colorado and Arizona to visit some family, I imagine the Raptor handles mountain passes through the Rockies with ease. I am thinking of making this a two-week outdoor vacation with the family, bringing my wife as a second driver and my 5-year old, who'll be 6 by then.

I think so. I would classify myself as a novice (first truck, no prior off-road driving or motorsports experience) and it was just right for me. Making it part of a family trip is a great idea. I wish I had been organized enough to arrange something along those lines.

I went last week and I thought it was great! The instructors were great too. The whole experience was very enjoyable.

The swag was unexpected and a great addition too. The free embroidered backpack was very nice!

Does anyone have experience with any dog boarding/daycare nearby? I’ll be traveling with my pup, camping and hoteling for a few weeks. He would be fine in the hotel room during the class and drive, but I don’t want him to have to hold it all day.

I travel with my dogs a lot. I use rover.com to find people who have doggie daycare right in their house. These are my two boys below.

I went yesterday. Top notch instructors and the Ranger Raptors are stock. The point is to show you how much fun you can have without making a buch of mods. The only things they added were chase and front bar lights which are needed to see the truck in front or behind you in the dust. They added a roll bar for safety. Everything else is a stock 2024 Ranger Raptor including the bugs like the sticky drive mode selector. They don't have the ProCal installed.

Since we did have to drive on the road, tire pressures were 32psi.

It was a full day of rock crawling, off roading, mountain trails, steep accents and decents, and short Baja race courses.

NOTE: The limited liability does not mean you are covered for everything. If you break a mirror off, you have to pay for it. If you roll a truck, you may have to pay for the whole truck. If you do $10k worth of damage, you may only have to pay $5k. They said they have never had an issue yet.

We took them out of the garage and all trucks looked shiny and new. We brought them back a total dusty mess inside and out. There retailers must be amazing since these trucks have been used/abused almost 100 times.

There is an instructor for every 3-4 cars and they use radios to tell you everything that is coming up.

We used every drive mode except towing and locked rear/front diffs when needed.

The highlight of the day is when the instructors combine the 2 Baja courses and take you out for a trip to show how far and fast they can be pushed.

NOTE: There is no jump. That is only for the F150s. The instructors say it is a waste of time to get your truck 6 inches off the ground 😀

The course is well worth the money just to find out everything your truck can do.
