Apple Carplay Not Connecting/Frozen Screen

I waited to make this until it happened a few times. My Apple Carplay will sometimes not connect and even after a phone restart, radio reset and truck restart. It happens randomly and usually at the most inconvenient time.

I need to let the truck sit off for a little bit and then magically it will reconnect again. Super strange and annoying. Today I had the screen freeze but the music continued playing. You can see the Carplay clock froze while the truck clock was working fine. Couldn't click Maps, Spotify or phone. Not sure if it's a know issue or if there is a fix.

Have you called Ford support ?

They have a dedicated team for Ford Sync and CarPlay issues

Not sure if this will help you or not. I have actually had to unpair the phone and then re-pair the device. It will work fine then. Very weird situation.

I got that so often I learned how to reset the desk without loosing Carplay, Hold Volume Down and Skip forward this will force the infotainment system to reboot.

Mine has done that once. Android. Every minute a message would pop up saying unable to connect. After restarting the truck it was fine.

Is your phone updated? Mine was giving me fits the other day wouldn't connect till updated my phone super annoying I know haha

I did this at first and it didn't work. I think after the second time and letting the truck sit it worked.

Yup. I did that when it first froze and it didn't fix it.

My phone is not updated. It keeps asking me but I say no lol. I guess it's time to update it.

I updated my phone and that solved my issues for now.
