ARB Dual Battery Kit

Started project Sunday past. Installing the ford/arb collab arb next gen ranger dual battery kit. All the way to Canada, from Aussie land, not available in North America yet. but fits perfectly. I did have to trim 1 bracket. the one that the 1 bolt from the airbox thats bolted to the fender. had to clearance that slightly. Only thing left now is to install the included wiring, and 25amp charger, had to call it a night. you can do it with one person like I did. but it would be significantly easier with a second person.

Have to finish up the wiring and charger install next weekend. back to 6days working 75+ Hr weeks.

Won't have to worry about the truck battery going dead. can jump truck off second battery. or run all my accessories, lights, etc. It's slowly but surely getting set up as camp/overland rig. weather we take the camper, or tents. she'll be set up.

Yupp ARB did, 25amp bcdc chsrger included. started researching all the stuff arb did with ford when they partnered on the 6g, and as part of fords globalization plans to basically have the 1 model world wide minus the rhd/lhd differences and trims. the base models are to be the same. our north america rangers are also premarked for the arb onboard compressor in the side of the bed, those 8 dimples on the right side of the bed for those wondering and havent seen previous posts. just not available in north America yet.

clearview tow mirrors, for example, not available in north America yet for our 6gens. but clearview Australia will still ship them here. thats the next 2 items on my list. but looking at summit racing a few weeks back. The arb part # for the arb onboard compressor ranger kit did pop up saying be available end of july. but ordering from Australia, still might be cheeper in some instances.

Do you plan to add some heat insulation or metal shielding around the battery, does it come with the kit? That location will get pretty toasty from the exhaust system…. Not good for long term battery health.

Do the ARB instructions talk about this? Usually they are pretty complete and clear.

My personal preference is a smaller/ lighter LiFePO4 battery inverter pack in the back where it is cooler…. To run accessories and chargers. You can carry a small battery jump box for emergency starts, that cannot be done directly off that type, but if a large enough capacity (1000 watts peak, 500 continuous), it CAN run a 6 amp DC battery charger for quite a while.

Negitive, ARB does not include any, nor do the instructions reference any. this kit is in the same spot on their gasser and diesel v6's they have, the exhaust is a lot closer in their V6's then my I4. so I am not concerned. also the bcdc charger in this kit will do lipo4, agm, lead acid, etc
