I spoke at length with the reps from Armour Caps at the Southeast Overland Camping event. They had an unassuming booth and I almost missed them. Their caps are the best toppers I've seen for the Ranger and I'll be placing an order. If you're in the market, especially for a rugged overland topper, I don't think there's a better option.

These are made in South Africa of stainless steel and shipped built, they are NOT modular like RSI Smart Cap, Westin, OVS, etc. The Ranger isn't on their site yet, but they can get it here in 12 weeks when ordered.

Things that impressed me after deep dive with the reps:
- Built from manufacturer CAD to match each specific truck's contours and profiles
- Shipped built, NOT modular
- UV reflective powder coating. Even thought it's black, it doesn't absorb heat. I confirmed this on a warm sunny day, the interior wasn't warm to the touch even with direct sunlight.
- Drip rails around the exterior. I haven't seen this on any other topper. The drip rails go below the bed cap, so water won't enter.
- positive pressure vent to reduce dust/water penetration
- For the Ranger, they bolt to the factory bed cleat/ tie down points. Armour Caps said those were load rated and stronger than bolting to the bed rails.
- Hidden hinges on all doors
- Value - I almost ordered a Westin EXP, these are a much more robust topper for about the same price
- Rear window
- options: can order with T-slot roof rack, interior roof tray for your camp trailer, and a side cavity for tool access from side door.
- Can add your own roof rack or bars on the t-slots
- 700 lb DYNAMIC load capacity is the highest I've ever seen on a topper.

Small things I didn't love:
- two latches per door. I do prefer the single latch per side.
- no automatic door locks like the Westin, using the truck factory FOB to unlock
- wing doors hinges can/may interfere with awnings due to their angle

I would look into these toppers if you're in the market. It's my next upgrade.

Those are very nice, do you know how they will deal with warranty issues? That seems like a major problem with overseas vendors who don’t have an established dealer network in the USA.

They now have nationwide distribution through Legacy Group, with over 600 locations. Warranty issues won't be a problem. Looking forward to getting my cap installed soon!

Here's a great promo video, showing the solid, non-modular design and an example of the topper on a Ranger Wildtrak (confirmed fit on NA Rangers, as well).

Here are some images of attachment points, not 'clamped' to the bed rails, like others. These are rated load points, as well as images on the Ranger.

Commenting so I can find this post again when I'm in the market for something above the bed other than my tonneau. This looks promising.
