Is this a thing? I’ve become spoiled with one of my other trucks that will automatically pop the cameras up of my choosing once certain scenarios take place. As an example, I have the overhead 360 and front camera turn on automatically under like 5 or 10 MPH. Makes parking a breeze.

For the Ranger Raptor, it would be killer to have that, but also a mixture of 360, rear, and the wide angle front when I put the truck in reverse. When I park the truck in the garage, I use the front wide angle every time as I want it as close as I can to the garage door to leave ample room behind as there are mountain bikes, work bench, etc. But the front isn’t even an option to choose from while in reverse, never mind an automatic option.

If it isn’t an OEM feature, does anyone know if this is something that could be setup in ForScan or something?

Thanks!

Just push the camera button on top left corner on center screen. May not be auto but I’m normally going very slow and gives me all the views I need when parking.

I can - and do - but I’m hoping for it to automatically swap over if possible.

However, it isn’t an option while in reverse. The truck will not allow selection of the forward facing camera views while in reverse. So for my garage parking scenario, I need to back up to where I think I need to be, put the truck in park, choose the camera view, then go back to drive or reverse.

Already asked this, doesn't seem to be possible without hitting the button each time, unfortunately.

I find the front or rear difficult to use to judge clearance distsnce. I much prefer the 360 view for that.

you have the same issue when pulling into a garage and you need to know when the rear is clear of the door..

i agree it would be nice to have better control of the cameras

but I think ultimately if you are trying to get the truck within inches of something. You will need some additional aids. Like the old tennis ball from the ceiling etc.

Sounds like a new house with a bigger garage is in order. Or at least a bigger garage.
Funny you should mention, we're in the planning stages for a barn on the lower side of the property. All the same, the attached garage is quite a bit oversized as it is, this feature would just help me use it the way I want is all. The garage parking is just an example, however. The ability to have automatic cameras would support other instances as well.

Unfortunately doesn't seem like it. The only thing that seemed plausible was if the front parking sensors could actually detect farther out than the range it triggers by default and you could adjust that trigger by enough that it would come on more regularly when parking instead of what it is stock which seems like ~2 feet away.

I get what you’re saying. You can have 2,4,10 or any number of home security cameras. You can pick how you view those cameras in a number of different ways. And you can save how you view those cameras upon opening the app. Kinda a funny that Ford, Chevy, Dodge or any auto maker can’t allow such a simple task. You bring up a valid point.

FYI. With my place in Montana I have lots of parking. In fact my wife drives into the kitchen and unloads the groceries. Good luck with building a new shed. Bigger is always better, just ask your wife. Cheers!!!
